I wake up hearing music inside me everyday, and i met my biological grandmother Emma (she passed before I was born) on the moon in my first iboga journey. I asked her for words of wisdom and she said “just dance”. Such wise and simple advice from such a beautiful woman I own my life too. If life is getting hard maybe take a minute to put on some tune and dance. I would love to hear what people think, believe or know what their soul it? There is so many definitions from across all religions, spiritual teaching and philosophy. The atman, the divine spark, the witness that never was born and will never die. I love hearing others speak of what they see that soul as and I will share mine as well. I see my soul akin to the Sun. It is the powder source for my body, its is the nuclear reactor deep inside animating my every thought, movement, action, word and emotion. It does not know right from wrong, does not like or dislike, there is no judgement from the my soul, it just is. The sun pours its loving light down on everything on earth, and does so if you are the hitler, or mother Teresa. My souls does that for me no matter what state I am in. It is my connection to the divine and through it I can connect to my higher self, pour that energy into my will and concur any illusion, and fear my mind creates in this amazing and beautiful gift of a world we are blessed to experience. Trees give and receive. Their growth whether that be slow or fast also are shaped by internal and external factors. Those factors can also hinder or be stressor. Working through them can be quick or lifelong. It takes light, water, nutrients daily to become healthy, productive and supportive. Its roots which most often not visible are growing and a part of the tree; they are like cultural identity, the soul and ancestors. The central leader, limbs, leaves, flower and fruit are my body and brain/mind. The benefits of trees like that of me can impact so many aspects for example, the environment, aesthetic, economic, psychological and social. They protect not only smaller trees from the elements but also the ecosystem. I too can protect my daughters, a role model for others, a guide, teacher, and a servant for others and for trees. Trees are sources of gathering and ceremony, unity, service and recovery and so can I. These are ways that mirror my recovery journey.
