There’s a little something extra I do to my cinnamon filling that most folks won’t catch, and that’s the whole point. I add about an eighth of a teaspoon of nutmeg. No more than that. Nutmeg is strong, and you don’t want anyone biting into a slice and thinking “nutmeg.” You want it working quietly in the background, rounding out the cinnamon so the whole thing tastes deeper. Then I add a few drops of extract. Vanilla does the job just fine, but lately I’ve been reaching for banana. Same rule applies. Not enough to actually taste it, just enough to give the filling a sense of something different. People take a bite and can’t quite name what makes it better. That’s what you’re after. You know… the kind of person who disappears for a while because they’re building something. Not because they’ve quit. Not because they’ve lost motivation. Because they’re creating. I’m one of those people.💜 When I start a new project, I like to quietly get to work. Big or small, I enjoy figuring things out through trial and error without a lot of outside noise. It’s not that I don’t appreciate advice. It’s that creativity has a rhythm. 🎶 When my mind is creating, my hands naturally follow. One idea leads to another, and another after that. Sometimes I don’t even know exactly what I’m building until I’m in the middle of it or I have completed it. That’s why too many opinions too early can interrupt that flow. A well-meaning “You should do this…” or “Have you tried that?” can pull me out of the vision before it’s had a chance to fully form. So I build quietly. I stay focused. I keep creating. Then, when it’s ready… I’m excited to share what my mind and hands have built. If you’ve been a little quiet lately, maybe you’re not hiding. Maybe you’re building.
