Washing mung beans before harvesting
Here is a great way to cull the seed hulls from any sprouts. These are mung bean sprouts, grown completely in the dark for seven days.

Healthful practices
Being or feeling healthy is not just about diet and exercise, but also about surrounding yourself with things that make you smile. It’s about decorating your environment so that it reflects your passions or desires. For some it is old photographs, or vintage books, kitchen gadgets harking back to a non electric past. For me, it’s glass. Glass jars and containers to be specific. Mason jars of all sizes, Smuckers peanut butter jars, some alcohol bottles are exquisite and I fill them with different color beans and seeds and display them on shelves with all my other glass treasures. Do you like to collect glass, or some other self pleasing visual that centers you? Share if you do. Health isn’t just nutrition for the body but beauty is nutrition for the soul.

Making Cocoa Puffs
Here is a healthy alternative to store bought Cocoa Puffs. Easy to make. You can involve your children with this one. They can make and bake their own breakfast cereal, with some supervision of course! Four simple ingredients, Oat Flour, Peanut butter, Maple Syrup, and cocoa powder. 1 cup of oat flour 1/2 cup peanut butter 1/4 cup maple syrup 1/4 cup cocoa powder Mix all into a dough, pinch off little cocoa rounds, then a 350’ oven for 12 minutes Let them cool to become crunchy Enjoy!

Little sprouts
I’m creating a class for parents to use as a tool to teach their children about where food comes from. It also shows how much food can be grown in your kitchen and on your windowsill. I’m open to suggestions as to what to include that would be of interest to you.

Sourdough Friday
Spent the day making a nice sandwich loaf of sourdough bread. Sourdough is a kick to make. It seems daunting at first, but after a few loaves, a few failures, successes, and so-so’s, it becomes an adventure. The minute you think you’ve got it down donecadjs a question like, “What’s your hydration percentage?” Huh? And you learn; words like proofing, bulk fermentation, cold proofing, coiling, and much, much more. It was a great day!
