Thanks for letting me be part of this community. I really love the way you approach Petanque, Kevin. May this be a fun and meaningful place to everyone.
Hi. I have a problem that when shooting, the boule always hits the left side of the target. I have tried many different options, but it always goes wrong. How do I fix my mistake? Thank you.
I can spot a good tireur by his technique — very straightforward, with few areas prone to breakdown in the movement. From my perspective, your main bottleneck is the ball release, and that’s the area you should focus on. The more precise your release becomes, the smaller the lateral deviation will be. Now, what causes that bottleneck? Since you — and only you — can truly feel the movement, I can only make an educated guess. It may be related to your forward swing and the timing of the release. If you extend the forward motion just a few inches further, you’ll likely generate more power, resulting in a longer shot. But if you think about it in reverse, that added swing length could allow you to use less force to reach the same distance — and that reduction in effort can help your hand release the ball with greater precision. Good luck
