I just lost in the second game in a single tournament here in Bourg Saint Andéol. I’ve beaten the tough opponents in the first game and was confident going into the second game. I thought I had practised and worked out most of the terrains this morning whilst waiting for the competition and filming a little. However, nothing prepared me for the nightmare terrain that was chosen. I threw the Jack initially to 8 m and threw my first boule which promptly hit a stone and steamed off at a right angle and off the terrain!!!! I had a quiet word with myself and said shit happens through the second boule which hit another bastard stone and went 4 m to the back. It was at this days that I realised it would be much easier to shoot than to point. In the end, I lost quite a close game to a very good player, but whilst I was throwing 1 to 2 boule off the terrain he was only throwing one boule off the terrain. He won quite a few ends with 5/6 meter measures! Shooting was also difficult because of the stones and I don’t think I’ve ever lost to a terrain in my life. Although my opponent got to 13 before I did, I still don’t think he deserved the win. Have you ever lost to a terrain before?

I've recorded some good videos this week once I started to feel better. I had cancelled my filming schedule which gave me ample tie to focus on some lessons. ​Hi everyone, ​I’m looking for advice on the mental side of the game. In a previous doubles match, our opponents used deliberate verbal and gameplay distraction tactics to throw off our rhythm. It was fairly clear to us, and a few people watching, that it was being done on purpose. Although we won the match, l would like to be more prepared for this in future matches. What can i do to stop this from affecting me and my partner, and what are some methods that you find useful for these situations?

Is there an area on this forum that discusses shooting training? I want to really improve my shooting in a fairly short period of time. I have time to practise, and I want to use the remainder of the Summer to train. My success rate is probably 40% at the moment, but after watching some of the latter matches from Travermünde I'm constantly blown away on how good some shooters are. Almost 90% success rate. And they do that with such ease. I've started by developing a good constant Plombee at various distances eg 7,8,9m for my training, bit I guess Inhave to be realistic on how long this process can take. Look forward to comments.
