Hey 👋🏻
Hey I’m Naomi, Mum of five, 22, 19, 11 (going on 31), 9 and 7. I love supporting others through the celebrations and lows of parenting. There’s no rule book and boy do I know we can’t parent every child the same! Thanks for having me here look forward to sharing and caring.

Plan B. Ally or enemy?
We might have been told to have something to fall back on in case what we want to do doesn't work. When I worked on a job just to pay my basic needs, I'd come back tired not wanting to do more stuff. There would be times where I'd push myself to keep working as my intention had been to use my 9 to 5 to finance my 5 to 9, but now I'm working full time on my passion and I feel more focused to do the best I can do and keep improving. What's your view on having a plan B? What would you think could be more practical for your teen?

Plan be can be either, ally because you have something to fall back non if A doesn't work. But an enemy that can get you stuck, because your doing what's comfortable and safe stifling yourself. I hope this makes sense sounded better in my head😆
Living with purpose
Yesterday I spoke with someone who graduated from college just because they were told they “needed the degree.” Sometimes we follow paths that seem right but disconnect us from what we truly want. I’ve been there too, until I had to decide whether to keep postponing my purpose or finally take action. Do you notice signs that your son or daughter might be following external expectations rather than exploring what they genuinely want?

Is college still a necessity?
How essential would you consider college to be today? There's so much material online out there that some entrepreneurs live Gary Vee, Dan Martell, Simon Squibb are saying unless it's engineering, medicine, psychology, law or architecture everything is available online. What do you think?

Late but tapping in. Short answer no. It took me a while to get to this point I have 2 daughters the eldest loved to read, no problem with going to school and loving it, to college graduating magnumlcum laude 🤦. School was a necessity for me to move and changey life circumstances. However my young st struggled with school, had difficulty with reading later diagnosed with SLD and on the nild end of Dyslexia spectrum. It was a chore for o motivate her to go she just wanted to quit or just get through. When her friends began to talk about college she became overwhelmed and paranoid. I stepped back and thought before we sat down to talk about it. I started by telling her just bc I went to college, your sister went to college and your friends are going, I need you to think about it-- to cut this short she found passion in the trade classes her school offered engaged in cosmetology cohort and graduated with a certification. Still thinks about college and knows her options. I'm just supporting her decisions and honoring her thoughts and feelings. And we talked aboutt online courses as well that seemed to appeal to her a h eat deal
Great News 🔥
It all started with me buying Ja a car from a private seller who posted his car in the community group. A couple weeks later he inboxed me asking how much I would charge to teach him English. He is Brazilian. During one of our lessons, he told me he was a software engineer. 💥 And just like that, we became business partners… He is creating my social and emotional gamified app. I sketched out this super dope idea for schools last year but didn’t know where to even begin looking for a trusted app developer, so I just kept perfecting the idea. Message🗣️🗣️God is our endless supplier. Our job is to focus on the what it is that we desire and he will focus on the how🙌🏾 He always brings you who and what you need. My client/bp just showed me the prototype, and I’m super excited about it. He needs a couple more months to finish it, but Im about to start pitching to schools now. To all of my teacher friends 🗣️ you and your students are gonna love this🔥🔥💫 If you are an educator, school social worker, or school admin, let me know in the comments so I can add you to the waitlist to beta test the app!
