Help Me Shape This For You
One of the things I’ve learned through years of creating content — and supporting others to do the same — is that having a clear, repeatable workflow makes all the difference. Not just for what you create, but for your energy, your consistency, and your ability to actually finish what you start. What you might not know is that outside of creative work, I’ve also worked behind the scenes as a business consultant — helping teams simplify systems and improve operations. So it’s natural for me to always look for the smoothest, least stressful way to get from idea to execution. And content creation is no different. That’s why I’m building something to help you create your own custom workflow — from setup, to filming, to delivery. But a structure that works for you — whether you're just getting started or ready to streamline something more advanced. Because let’s be honest — the hardest part isn’t just the tech. It's the mental load: - Not knowing where to start - Second-guessing your setup - Avoiding filming because it feels like too much - Trying to do it all in your head - Getting overwhelmed by the next steps - Struggling to stay consistent because the process isn’t clear This is about clearing that noise and building a system that removes friction — so you can show up more consistently and feel good about what you’re creating. Before I finalize it, I’d love your input: Where do you feel the most stuck (or scattered) in your content workflow right now? 👇 Vote in the poll below — and if there’s something you don’t see listed, feel free to drop a comment. I’m building this with you in mind.

The set up is annoying and challenging, but the editing is worse. I feel pretty settled now with my camera situation, which is a Logitech Brio WebCam filming into QuickTime on my Mac. The last video I did, I use a digital audio workstation with two mics one on my voice and one on the piano I had a separate audio that went into GarageBand. I synced it with the video. I used Descript, which I hated. So buggy and glitchy supposed to save time really sucked up time. Back to CapCut. Basically edit each a segment of the video separately, export and then re-import to CapCut and assemble in a separate project. Any feedback you have all of this? Would love to hear it. This is all for recording for youtube - long form, horizontal format

@Elfina Luk I’m only using one camera. It was basically a wide shot. At the moment, I’m not really doing much pain playing on my videos. It’s mostly me talking about how to learn better and stuff like that. The two mics lent to me by a student of mine student who’s an audio engineer. I’m not near the mikes right now, but I think one is a Shute SM 57 for the voice, and the piano mic is an $800 mic apparently. I was very happy with the quality of the sound in last week’s video. I will try to submit for Video feedback that seems like a really good idea. Making the YouTube video is so time-consuming any time I can save there would be very helpful.

@Elfina Luk thanks Elfina. I hope you're right. I will have to move out of my house while they are doing the construction and I don't have anywhere to go yet. Which is OK for me but I'm quite concerned about my 2 indoor cats. So along with running the new community I will need to be commuting to my piano studio. Fortunately it is a separate ADU in my back yard. If worst comes to worst I can camp out in there.

@Elfina Luk a cat and a hockey game don’t seem like they go together that well but maybe you have an exceptional cat!
