Potentially Helpful Shuttle Run Tips
Hey all, hope your preparations for the shuttle run are going well! Just thought I’d share a quick video with tips and tricks on the shuttle run that a friend who passed in May shared with me. He said it was quite helpful for him! https://youtu.be/Sd8MVNbnylk?si=f7lLIhMHnZpCWjF- Hope it helps and good luck! See you on June 6th 🏃🏽‍♂️‍➡️

@James Bright that’s correct! Given how much you train consistently, I don’t think you’ll have any troubles reaching level 7. Remember to pace yourself, use the techniques in the video, and when it gets difficult don’t let your doubts take over. Near the end it can very much become mind over matter.

@James Bright No worries! I bet, any form of testing can be stressful. But you’re doing the right thing by asking around and preparing yourself. You got this!
Fitness - Running
Hi everyone! I was asked this weekend to post some tips and information about running for those in Skool. I am curious what people may like to see. I am currently training to do the full Ironman next year here in Ottawa. I certainly recommend joining different run groups across Ottawa and am happy to share some of the ones I go to, specifically I go to the 25th on Thursday evenings. Please comment below what you would like to see, as I am more than happy to give tips and advice on what has helped me pass my shuttle run and upkeep my fitness at a high standard where I am able to surpass the shuttle run requirements.

@Kristin Black Thank you Kristin for the advice! Will make sure to stretch and get a heating pad. Thankfully I have been doing physio and seeing good results. Hope your time at OPC is going well and I hope to be prepared to follow suit soon! 👮🏾‍♂️

OPS PREP vs. Shuttle Run?
Hi everyone, I just received an email saying that a valid PREP certification is required as I move forward in the selection process. I’ve already completed the Shuttle Run with Ottawa Police and uploaded my certificate with my application. I thought that the Shuttle Run was enough to move forward in the process. Has anyone else received this email? Is the PREP a separate requirement from the Shuttle Run, or is this just a general reminder sent to applicants? Thanks!

Might be a generic reminder as I and many others have moved through with the shuttle run certificate

Summer Food Drive 2026 Success! 🙌🏾
What a great experience and opportunity to get involved and serve the community by feeding those less fortunate in the largest food drive in Ottawa’s history with 160,000 lbs of produce! Thank you @Sgt. Jennifer Richardson Recruiting- Ottawa Police Service for giving us the opportunity to volunteer for this! A sad reality that I learned are that 30% of those who need food from this initiative are children, I have a little daughter and would be mortified if I could not feed her… So I felt a personal responsibility and joy knowing our efforts are helping to aid this reality. I also really enjoyed working with the OPS and seeing them in action serving the community as an example like @Cst Brad Peak. Along with this, it was a pleasure to meet and work with others in the recruitment process like myself and community members of all ages and demographics with the same mindset to help through action. We were able to finish way ahead of schedule with everyone’s commitment and efforts! 🙌🏾 Looking forward to continue serving the community and to as well be successful in the recruitment process to serve in a greater capacity as an OPS Constable! 👮‍♀️ Pleasure to meet/reconnect: @Muhammad Mahad Siddiqui @Thomas Lalonde @Shamsher Singh Jacob Stiletto Keep in touch and wishing you all the best in your process as well! 👮‍♂️
