Low BP
My blood pressure had been running low for a few days, but yesterday morning it dropped to 80/50. I started sweating, my vision went dark, and I felt dizzy. I went to the hospital emergency room and saw my nephrologist. He discontinued both of my blood pressure medications—Telmisartan 40 and Metoprolol XR 12.5. The nephrologist also advised me to consult a cardiologist. The cardiologist agreed that it was best to stop both medications for the time being, until my blood pressure returned to normal levels. After that, I met the nephrologist again. Upon my strong insistence, instead of discontinuing the Telmisartan 40, he prescribed half the dose. I have proteinuria, which is why the nephrologist prescribed Telmisartan 40. While it didn't completely stop the protein leakage, it certainly reduced it. I haven't taken any blood pressure medication since last night, yet my blood pressure is currently 90/60. In the blood test I had at the hospital yesterday, both sodium and chloride levels came back below the normal range. This is the first time my test results have shown sodium and chloride levels outside the normal range. Since my blood pressure is still 90/60, I cannot even take half a dose of Telmisartan. I am afraid that stopping Telmisartan will further increase my protein leakage.

@Amrit Pal Singh Ji, Sat Shri Akal, Pls ask Doctor to add Mg salt tablet so you could take before drinking water which will hydrate your cells better & reduce your thirst. Plain water (RO water) is not hydrating your Cells / Body so cells are looking for more water. To reduce water intake Pls chew Green Cardamom or keep Ice cube in your mouth for a while (This Cardamom & Ice Cube was advised to my cousin by AIIMS Delhi team to reduce thirst)(Sendha Namak or Celtic salt have enough Magnesium) Eat more Fruits (Watermelon, Melon / Cucumber ) than cooked food to remain Hydrated. Regarding your Eagerness to start Telma salt, Pls Consult your doctor. Also give some time to body to recover.

Most of the people here are CKD patients, I would like to know some info from them. It will help all the members. Please respond to the questions in comments. 1. When was their CKD diagnosed and at what Stage ? 2. What was the eGFR numbers at the time of diagnosis? 3. What is the present eGFR? 4. What is the cause of their CKD ? Just want to know if there are any patient here who have managed this for multiple decades at same stage. It might be useful to all of us.

An Inspiring Story
I would like to introduce @Ravindra Pant who had a transplant around 10 years ago. Ravindra underwent a kidney transplant around 10 years ago. Since then, he hasn't just returned to normal life - he has gone on to complete multiple marathons and inspire countless people along the way. His story is a powerful reminder that a diagnosis does not define your future. Many people believe that life stops after kidney disease or transplantation. Ravindra is living proof that with the right mindset, discipline, and determination, life can continue to be full of purpose, achievement, and adventure. In fact, he has probably accomplished more after his transplant than many people do without ever facing a major health challenge. His journey is not just about kidney disease. It's about resilience, hope, and what is possible when you refuse to let circumstances define you.

Drinking water with Spherical Containers
Dear Dr Arjun Ji, Was thinking on water properties kept in Spherical shape pots (Matka). Can we use take advantage of these benefit for Person who has restriction on water intake. Drinking water with Spherical containers actually reduce surface tension of water which will enter the cells easier than drinking in cylindrical shape glass so cells will feel hydrated with least intake.
