Capsule Wardrobe
Hello all. This is my first post. I am a bit of a minimalist and have seen things about capsule wardrobes. I’m wondering if anyone currently does this and what would you suggest as staples for it. Thanks all

Please Don't Sleep On Your Footwear
It's been close to 2 years since i started rebuilding my wardrobe. I was going to build a capsule wardrobe but ended building up my own style. White sneakers and Chelsea boots were my only shoes (gym wear excluded) I was adding t shirts, shirts, jeans but i felt the same. I ended up adding: 11 Shirts 8 short sleeve tees 8 straight leg jeans 7 chinos 4 long sleeve tees 2 long sleeve polo 3 jumpers 1 Sneaker (white) 1 Chelsea (camel) And today, i finally ordered a pair of tobacco colored lace up boots (image attached) after hearing everyone's suggestions and i felt like it gave me a completely new personality and wardrobe. It's just 1 piece of addition but it changed everything! My advice would be that even if you own only 2 pairs of jeans and 3 pairs of tees, consider having atleast 3 footwear (sneakers, boots, loafers) or bare minimum 2. It might look weird recommendations but it'll help you to create different looks.

@Joseph Cancino You're a great father! 1 item per month is great but if he chooses to go with timeless, interchangeable and good quality clothes then it'll last him for a long time. A wardrobe of 40-50 pieces are more than enough but if he's a kid and if he likes something then it's fine because he has a limit of buying 1 item/month.

The Importance of Fit, Illustrated.
If you spend some time in this community, you'll find that the importance of getting the proper fit to your garments is an ever-present leitmotif. And here is a good illustration of the concept. I bought this Isaia linen sport coat NWT on eBay for a quite reasonable sum. Even though it was listed as a 46R, both my tailor and the Professor (@Brian McGuire) thought that it looked more like a 46L. I tried to live with it as is, but I could never really feel comfortable in it at that length. The challenge was the patch pockets. They would have to be moved in order to shorten the skirt of the coat and my tailor was afraid that the removal would leave needle marks behind. But I gave him the authority to risk it; he did, and needle marks were not an issue. I think the coat just looks infinitely better shortened by 2 inches. Before and after shots below.

OOTD 2025-08-23: A Birthday Party...
Today we're celebrating our niece's first birthday. I'm not sure what's going on with the button on this jacket here. I re-fastened it and it didn't look like this but didn't care to retake the picture. I'm wearing another Erebus on my wrist today. I brought four watches in total: one Sternglas and three Erebus...

Pink shade combo looks interesting with blue. If you're not happy with the button then I'd simply open them, it'll also make you look taller if pants are high rise.
