Has anyone ever gone live to do a project with few or no subs?
Christmas is upon us and I make handmade greeting cards whenever I can. I’m thinking of doing a live for making these cards because, why not? On the craft channel I have 44 subs, most of which came from my ‘baby possum In the fridge” video short. If I set chat to subscribers only will that keep out the riff raff and trolls? ‘

@Jonathan Mcelrea I think it will be a fun experiment to run this weekend!

@Francis Remy This is how it went: I didn’t go live for two reasons. First, I didn’t have all my supplies and materials ready and in one place so I would have had to keep leaving to search for that “one thing”. Second, I have an oxygen machine running in the room I’m going live from and I’m not sure how that would be picked up. Instead I opted to do a regular video where I could “pause” to go find things if I had to (I did). I haven’t listened to playback yet to see if the oxygen machine made it into the audio. I have edits to do but at least I did the thing!
Phone holder suggestions?
Hey all, I have an art channel. For Christmas, I told hubby I’d like decent phone holder for filming my art processes. Maybe one that swings, attaches, etc. Got a favorite you’d like to recommend? Thanks!

@Shelina Virjee I think I will get one of those as well. I bought a similar but much more expensive one from Amazon Warehouse “like new” and it came broken and used, reeking of perfume and dirty! I sent it back and need something else. This is PERFECT, thanks for sharing!

Just hit 75 subscribers on YouTube, and to be honest, I am really enjoying the process. A lot more than I thought. If you are sitting on the YouTube sidelines, jump in. Face your fear, if I can do this, you can!

Fantastic!!!
Title Change For The Win!!!
So 3 days ago I uploaded what I believed to be my best video to date. It was titled “We’ve Been Lied To About Quiet Luxury (here’s the truth)”. After two days it had only gotten 9 views. Needless to say I was hurt. I had such high hopes for that video because I truly felt it would be very relatable and insightful. Well I felt like a failure. But because I loved that video so much I did something I haven’t done before, I changed the title. I changed it to “The Truth About Financial Freedom No One Talks About”. I know the titles are very different but it’s not clickbait, that’s what the video is about. And in less than 12 hours after the title change it now has 97 views, 2 new subscribers, 1 like, and 1 comment 😱😱😱. I can’t believe just that one change had such a big impact. So here is your encouragement to change a title or thumbnail on a video that you know people need to see but just hasn’t gained traction.

@Rachel Cadwell a thanks! I subscribed to your channel under my “Crafts” account because that where all the finance channel on my home feed are. My background is definitely a work in progress. I had no idea my camera angle was so low. I was so worried about it actually working that I didn’t really notice the weird parallax too much! My face was in frame and that’s all that counts. Right?

@Rachel Cadwell Thanks for asking! I do ALL the crafts but I’m currently concentrating on paper crafts and jewelry making. I absolutely enjoyed the “Quiet Luxury” video, it fell right in with the content that I normally watch, also “Saving on a Tight Budget”. I’m proud to announce that my financial situation is a tiny bit above these (not by much), but I love the content as a reminder!
I wonder
Here is a question for all you knowledgeable folks. If someone does a video about you, can you add an intro and an extro to it and share it with your audience?

Nice to ‘meet’ you on the zoom call! I saw your question this on the call and wondered if you could do a sort of reaction video. I’ve never done this but I have watched hundreds of reaction videos over the years. I see people using platforms like OBS or Streamyard to play the other person’s video, pause the video to make comments and then play the video, stop, make comments, etc. They claim it falls under fair use and most channels don’t try to copyright claim of what you’re saying is positive and makes them look good. Be to critical and they start to make false copyright claims against your video. It’s not my personal experience but back when I watched a lot of reaction content this happened a lot. it not sure but I think you can download her video from a YouTube, play it, pause after every few sentences and say your opinion. At the end you could add an “in memorium” screen to close out the video. I’ve never done this but I’ve watched thousands of video and have seen similar things. Hope this helps a little. Sometimes I want to do a reaction video but I’m still figuring out what I can and can’t do because I watched a lot of content and I have opinions! Sorry I didn’t speak up on the call when you asked. This was my second ever zoom call and I felt a little awkward and shy, but at least I turned on my camera!
