👋 Hey everyone, Nicky here. I’m delighted to step in as your new host for this community! I’ve already been in touch with some peeps via DM, and in the background I’m sending an email out to all our fab members so nobody misses the update. My aim is simple: continue the amazing work that @Luke Gilbert started, keep this community buzzing with good conversations, practical brewing tips, and a place to share what we all love - coffee. ☕ To kick things off, I’d love to hear from you: where are you sipping from today + what’s in your cup? My first of the day WAS a Rebel House Espresso from javathehutt.ie roastery. It's a fab bean from Brazil. We also serve it in our converted horse box coffee trailer which is parked up at our local football club full time. I'm fully caffeinated and ready for the day!

Usually I brew at home. At least until a few years ago I didn't even have access to good cafes which serve the kind of coffee I like. But of late I do enjoy sitting quietly with a nice filter and a book in a corner of a cafe. Later I'll chase it down with an espresso shot and maybe a yummy pastry. I tried that on a weekday when work was slow. It was a quietly decadent experience. I'm afraid I might be getting latched on to the cafe moods! Sometimes the moments while I have coffee generate some thoughts which end up as designs or ideas on paper. This design had some meaning to me while I was drawing it on the outline of V60 brewer. Something along the lines of how specialty coffee makes us or herds us into this community. The thought and the design are not fully formed. Sometimes it never goes beyond this stage. I know there are some talented people here. Any of you would like to take a hand at furthering this thought or design? You're welcome to do so!
