How to handle the inner critic
Tomorrow, October 12th at 11am Central, we're doing the October workshop together: Self-Compassion & the Inner Critic. If you have a voice in your head that says "you should have done more," "everyone else manages this," or "what's wrong with you?" on the days your body or brain can't keep up, this one is for you. Here's the part I want you to know ahead of time: we're not going to try to silence the critic. That has never worked for me, and I don't think it works for most of us. What we're going to practice is changing your relationship with that voice, so you stop mistaking it for the truth. We'll look at where the inner critic comes from (it's learned, not a flaw in you), how it shows up in your practice, and one simple tool for talking back without fighting. You'll get a few quiet minutes to work through it right there in the session. Join us tomorrow at 11am Central: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/85400092091

Why people aren't turning up to your events (and the simple fix)
Hey everyone, I've been looking at my own stats and at what other members are doing, and one thing stands out for events and presentations. The people getting good turnout are posting about their event three times a week, and they start two weeks before the date. So if your event is on the 15th of October, your first post needs to go out on the 1st at the very latest. That gives you enough time to properly promote it, and honestly, that's what it takes if you want people to show up. Three times a week needs to happen in each of these places: - Your own community - Skool Events Daily (if you're in VIP, you can post your event there three times a week) - Skool Classifieds, which is a separate community from ours with around 2,100 members. Not all of them will see your event, but you can put it in front of a lot of people for very little effort, and it's free to post. If you're running more than one event, that's even better, because you're promoting each of them across all three places. One more thing. Don't post your event and then disappear. Before you post, have a look at what other members have shared and leave a comment on a few of them. That's how Skool Events Daily has grown, because members support each other, and it's how I've grown my communities too. If you comment on other people's events, they'll do the same for you. If you're struggling to get people into your events right now, check whether you're actually doing this. In most cases, the promotion just isn't happening often enough or early enough. Any questions? 🔥 𝗠𝗬 𝗛𝗢𝗧 𝗧𝗜𝗣: 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗜𝗧𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗠
At our first Coffee, Chat & Collab, we all shared an event tip that others could go away and try. Mine was a really simple one. 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁. Don’t just put your event in the calendar, write a post about it and then sit there hoping everyone spots it. They probably won’t. People are busy. They miss posts. They forget what they saw yesterday. And sometimes they fully intend to come to something and then completely forget about it. 😂 So when I have an event coming up, I message as many members as I reasonably can and send them the 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸. Not a huge sales pitch. Just a friendly personal invitation letting them know what’s happening and giving them an easy way to join. Because there’s quite a difference between someone scrolling past: “𝗜’𝗺 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆.” …and receiving: “𝗜 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀, 𝘀𝗼 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂.” One is an announcement. The other feels like an invitation. And if you want people at your event, sometimes you need to stop waiting for them to find it… 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺. ☕🔥 Have you tried personally inviting your members to your events?
