Floor Grinder Vs Shot Blaster
So Floor Grinder Vs Shot Blaster - I have been watching install content, and a question came to me as I am trying to decide what equipment to purchase and what equipment to just hire etc. I mostly see Installers using Grinders and then I see some using shot blasters. What is best, or is it a case of choosing the right machine for the right job? Is it determined by project size or the quality of sub-base? In other words, if the slab has a lot of wear and tare or is generally in Rough shape, go with a Floor Grinder. But if the Slab is in really good shape, then should I use a Shot Blaster? Basically, I am imagining various scenarios I might run into, and I am trying to educate myself so I can walk onto a project and know what I will need. I am also trying to decide if I should buy the Larger pieces of equipment at the start or simply hire. Some words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Am I right in thinking, that if it’s residential and not a large space . You would just grind. And if it’s a larger commercial/Industrial space, you would double down and use both methods if the surface warrants it? Or is it a case by case basis? I think part of my problem is The course that I went on in England and some of the UK YouTube content, uses a different install method. So when I done my course, the steps were - grind - bonding agent - self level - sand - clean - feather - sand - clean - DPM - (some people say put the damp proof down after grind and before self levelling) - primer - mid coat - Top coat (protective coat) Basically I am trying to decide if I should dump what I learned on the course and use a different method. Over all what method do you guys use? PS I like the idea of putting pigment in the DPM and using that as the primer coat. I always wondered why that was not an option in the first place.
Top Coat Course
I went on through the Top Coat training last night. Really got a lot from it. I have started looking for suppliers in the UK for some of the various recommended top coats. I am having problems finding ceramic top coats. Is there any one on here aware of any uk suppliers?

Hi Jeremy, really appreciate it. I am actually considering selling product here. For example I am having problems finding suppliers for Metallics that have consistent stock levels and colour ranges etc. However the have now found a Manufacturer who carries 200 colours and is sending me over free samples of the complete range.
How do you push through the low-motivation days?
Some days I feel like I’m absolutely crushing it — making progress, ticking off tasks, and feeling on top of the world. Other days, I wonder if I’m even moving forward at all, or just spinning my wheels. How do you guys personally handle the days when motivation dips?

Create a weekly plan for yourself and a step by step project plan to hat you follow, so when you do have those bad days, you just look at the plan you created and it takes away the thinking so you can simply go through the motions.
Another front edge repair
Went a little different this time, customers haven't even seen it, so hopefully it will be OK 😁 ,instead of trying to match the color, went complete opposite, the lid is just off, covered with same flake ... would you do it ? I just really like that dark color, it seemed like a good idea in the moment 🤷🏻‍♂️

What tips or setup would you recommend if it starts to rain in the middle of a flake instillation and you need to keep garage door open to complete the install?
Edge grinder options
Hey guys, Does anyone have any experience with a grinder like the one attached in the photo? I like the idea to save my back, but it’s a bit of an investment. Wasn’t sure if anyone had any feedback?
