⚽️ World Cup weekend! 🇺🇸🌎
Today we have the 3rd place match, and tomorrow is the World Cup Final! 🏆 Fun fact: every single team I rooted for got eliminated. 😂 So at this point, I’m just here for the drama. Now it’s your turn! Use this post to practice your English/Portuguese👇 🇧🇷 Em português: - Como você está se sentindo sobre a final da Copa? - Quem é o seu favorito para o jogo de hoje? - E para a final de amanhã? - Qual time você queria muito que tivesse chegado à final, mas foi eliminado? 🇺🇸 In English: - How are you feeling about the World Cup final? - Who are you rooting for in today’s match? - Who do you think will win the final tomorrow? - Which team did you really want to see in the final? 💬 You can use this simple template: Português: “Estou animado(a) para a final. Hoje eu estou torcendo para ______, e amanhã para ______. Eu queria que ______ tivesse chegado à final.” English: “I’m excited about the final. Today I’m rooting for ______, and tomorrow I’m rooting for ______. I really wanted ______ to make it to the final.” Now let’s see your answers! 👇⚽️

Estou animado para a final. Hoje torcei para Inglaterra e amanhã eu torcendo para Argentina. Eu queria que os Estados Unidos tivesse chegado à final. Eu gosto de torcer para Messi. Ele é o melhor jogador de todos os tempos.
Desafio Semanal (Weekly Challenge) 🇧🇷
This Week’s Portuguese Challenge: Colors! 🎨 Great job to everyone who completed last week’s challenge! 👏 This week, we’re building on what you already learned. Remember: - Eu gosto de… = I like… - Eu não gosto de… = I don’t like… Now, use those same sentence starters with colors! For example: - Eu gosto de azul. (I like blue.) - Eu não gosto de marrom. (I don’t like brown.) I’ve added an English-friendly pronunciation under each color to help you read the words more confidently. It’s not perfect Portuguese pronunciation, but it’s close enough to make speaking much easier when you’re just getting started. I’m also sending you an audio recording so you can hear how each color is pronounced. 🎤 Your challenge: 1. Repeat all of the colors out loud. 2. Record yourself saying: - Eu gosto de… + one color. - Eu não gosto de… + a different color. I’d absolutely love to hear your recordings! Don’t worry about being perfect; just focus on practicing. Every time you say the words out loud, you’re getting closer to speaking Portuguese naturally. 🇧🇷❤️

“The Sharpest Tool in the Shed”
When I tell you I get all kinds of messages… believe me, I really do. 😂 Today, someone decided to insult me by saying: “You’re not the sharpest tool in the shed.” And honestly? It brought back a memory from when I was learning English. I used to love the song All Star (yes, the one from Shrek 🎵), and the first line goes: “Somebody once told me the world was gonna roll me, I ain’t the sharpest tool in the shed.” That sentence stayed in my head for YEARS because I could never figure out what it actually meant. Then I realized it doesn’t have a perfect translation in Portuguese. It basically means you’re not very smart, but we don’t really have one exact expression that matches it. (Or maybe we do?) 🇧🇷 If you’re Brazilian, do we have a good equivalent? Let me know in the comments! Now let’s make this fun: 👇 Comment an idiom or expression in your native language, and let the next person reply with the closest equivalent in their language. I’ll start: Filho de peixe peixinho é

How about "he's got a few screws loose" or for a similar one "he's a couple of sandwiches short of a picnic" 😄
