☕ Coffee, Chat & Collab is coming!
I’m launching something new in Skool Events Daily on Wednesday 1/ 2nd September (depending on which part of the world you are in) and this one is all about getting us together, sharing what we know and helping each other create better events. Because sometimes one conversation, one idea or one connection can completely change what you do next. Coffee, Chat & Collab will be an hour where we can swap the hints and tips that are actually working, talk about our events, throw ideas around, find people we could collaborate with, share the latest news and opportunities — and probably go completely off-topic occasionally too. 😂 The idea is simple. You come away with new ideas, useful tips, new connections and hopefully a bit more inspiration than you arrived with. And because everyone in the room has different experiences and knowledge, you never quite know who might have the answer, idea or connection you've been looking for. ☕ We start Wednesday 2nd September 🇳🇿 11am New Zealand 🇦🇺 9am Sydney/Melbourne 🇺🇸 7pm Tuesday New York on the Tuesday, 1st September. https://www.skool.com/live/vYjPnJNjZmt Then we’ll meet every other Wednesday for an hour. Bring your coffee. Bring your questions. Bring something you've discovered that might help somebody else. Let’s chat, collab and see what comes out of it. ❤️

@Heather Wilson Splendid idea. I'm in!
She almost deleted her community in June
Jenny Rader-Bakos told her husband it was a waste of time. All the effort going in, nothing coming back unless she was the one posting. He told her it was her passion. She stayed. Engagement in Rooted & Wild now runs somewhere between 85 and 90 per cent. The full conversation is up now: How Jenny Turned a Quiet Community Around. A few things she said that are worth your time: The comments are where the magic happens, not the posts. She's active in about ten other communities and sits near the top of most leaderboards. People read a good comment, click the profile, find the community. She never uses stock images. She photographs the process, not just the finished plate, because people who only see the finished thing decide they couldn't do it themselves. She runs a five-day posting plan so she never sits there wondering what to post. Monday through Friday, each day has a job; weekends off. Her first workshop was a Monday idea that ran on the Thursday, and two people turned up. She recorded it and shared the replay anyway. That's the moment things changed. Worth 30 minutes if you're in the quiet stage she was in back in June. If you want more of these, subscribe to the channel while you're there. Jenny's own community is Rooted & Wild if you want to see how she runs it. Check out our brand-new YouTube channel and hit subscribe while you're there. SUBSCRIBE HERE

@Jenny Rader-Bakos Persistence beats resistence 👏
Two people turned up to her first workshop
Jenny's first workshop was a Monday idea that ran on Thursday. She was sitting there eating her own quick pickled onions, thought, "that's a workshop", and threw it together in three days. Two people came. She says she was discouraged, which is fair enough. But she recorded it anyway. Posted it. Shared the replay. That's when the chatter started. Not during the live session. After it. Most people run this the other way round. Weeks of planning, then they judge the whole thing on the number of people in the room, then they quietly bin the recording because only two showed up. The attendance figure isn't the result. The recording is the asset. It carries on working long after everyone has logged off, and it reaches the people who wanted to come but couldn't. Jenny runs Rooted & Wild, a whole-food, plant-based community, if you want to see what she's built since. Full conversation with Jenny goes out later today. Keep an eye on the feed. New to Skool Events Daily? Don't forget to attend our welcome call. Des

@Des Dreckett Great. I would love to view it.
Imposter syndrome doesn’t always sound like “I’m not good enough.”
Sometimes it sounds like: “𝗜’𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸.” “Maybe I should lower the price.” “I need to learn a little more first.” And you’re not alone. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝟴𝟮% 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀. But what if it’s not just a confidence problem? Sometimes, there’s a 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 underneath freeze, flight, fawn, or fight. 🌿 Starting 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟳𝘁𝗵, our FREE 𝟳-𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 will help you recognize which patterns may be affecting your pricing, visibility, and decisions and practice small ways to interrupt them. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘆𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲?

@Lisa Adams Totally agree! I try to balance Internal (mindset and psychological barriers) and External ( environment and data)
One QR code cost me nothing. One demo cost me 30%, every year, forever
TL;DR: - Tested QR code vs. demo-only in the same session last night. - QR code straight to a community = "Joined directly," no commission taken. Demo without a link, people found the community themselves via Skool = "Joined from Skool network," Skool took 30%. - If Growth Boost is on (it's on by default, Settings > Discovery), Skool takes a 30% recurring commission on any join it decides it sourced, including people who navigate to you inside Skool rather than clicking a link you gave them. - Always put an actual link or QR code in front of people. Never rely on them finding you themselves. Ran a session last night with two communities of mine in play. One part of it, I did a demo on screen, walked through the community, but never gave people a direct link or QR code. Anyone who wanted to join YouTube For Skool had to go and find it themselves inside Skool. Those joins came in tagged "Joined from Skool network," and Skool took its 30% commission. That's on me, and it's exactly the mistake I'm telling you not to make. Later in the same session, I put a QR code on screen linking straight to Skool Events Daily. People scanned, landed directly in the community, joined. Those show as "Joined directly." No commission. Worth saying, we keep Growth Boost switched off for SED, which is part of why that result held up so cleanly. Here's what Growth Boost actually does, straight from Skool's own help docs. It's two things bundled together. First, it pushes your community higher in Skool's internal search results for keywords your ideal members are already searching. Second, Skool spends its own money running off-site ads on your behalf, Meta and elsewhere, to bring in members you wouldn't otherwise reach. You don't pay for any of that upfront. Skool fronts the cost. The trade is commission, and this is the part worth understanding properly. It's not a flat fee for having the feature switched on. It's 30%, but only on members Skool's system decides it sourced. And "sourced" isn't just ads.
One QR code cost me nothing. One demo cost me 30%, every year, forever
