One Leg Balance - Tips For Beginners
Iโ€™m struggling with One Leg Balance. May someone please give me some advice.

Yes to all the above advice from @Aleeta Powe and @Marisa Sa ! Whichever skate you are standing on pick an edge, whichever feels best for you. If it's your outside edge think about lining that bent knee over your baby toe, push down on the outside of your foot and through those outside wheels. It should feel like you are locking those wheels into the ground preventing a roll. Some people feel better using an outside edge, in that case connect with your inside wheels, big toe, knee over toe, nose over knee.

For off skates practice I love using a yoga block because there is a little play to it so it resembles the feeling of your trucks flexing and you will have to fight a little more to maintain your balance
How do I make my body look less awkward.
I feel like the prettiest T. rex ever. Tips to get this torso in check? just a sloppy flow - I was already over 3 hours in my body tapping out Iโ€™ll take any pointers

Well I don't see any awkwardness at all! I'm seeing @Eden Perez in her flow with mad skate skills. And praise for your videographer capturing you through it all. You pulled off a load of moves creating your personal style and rhythm. For me when it looks different than what I was feeling is where the disconnect comes in and a 2 minute video can't capture the vibe of the session either. Keep doing what you are doing. You are an inspiration so thanks for sharing โœŒ๏ธ
Penny for your thoughts
I'm currently taking a skate instructor course. May I ask you 3 questions? <If "yes" proceed to next step> ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป 1. What frustrates you most about skating? 2. What skill do you wish you had? 3. What would make you feel more confident?

@Aleeta Powe great comments! Yes being content with where you are at for your own personal skate experience is super important. It's not a race. We never know what someone else's previous skill experiences are, which has allowed them to progress or present as they have. There's that expression, "comparison is the thief of joy". At some point, I decided to not worry about how I looked but how I felt when moving on skates and I would like others to experience how it feels too. To me it feels like flying.

@Aleeta Powe No one is judging you at the rink. Just do your thing. When we look at how silly we all our with wheels strapped to our feet we should just be smiling and laughing. IT'S SO SILLY!!! Time to roll like nobody is watching you wherever that may take you.

Your timing and bounce were on point. I just rewatched your first video compared to this and you are so much smoother

@Marisa Sa I meant the original post at home not at the rink. You are rocking it at the rink!
Do-over w/new wheels
March 8, 2026 do-over of Feb. 25. Backwards alternating crossovers concentrating on complete weight transfer - two tries. The wheels are great, thanks again Jay. The bearings... whoever cleaned and oiled these things is trying to kill me. Wait, that was me.

also what @Marisol As is suggesting cross steps without the step out. Like a backwards strut.
