Taking charge of my life means to me. I choose not to use drugs and alcohol. I show up for myself. I put the work in everyday. I educated myself. I use mindfulness and I am grounded. I have unconditional love for myself.

Day 2 prompt
Where did you learn the rules you live by?
0 likes • Feb 2
Where did you learn the rules you live by? From my parents, grandparents, siblings and other caregivers. School, religion, and society. Coming from a society that wasn't normal. Where there was conflict and hardship. Watching the law maker being the law breaker. Then the rules of law means nothing. Those who make the law, then break the law in the name of the law. Then there is no law. A lawless society. I personally hated rules. I hated authority. Rules were made to be broken. Growing up and carrying all this. Living for years in active addiction. Then changing my ways and changing my rules. Learn from my mistakes. Got over my bad habits. Having boundaries and self respect and self compassion. Forgiveness and accountability for my actions. This is the rules I live by.

@Tony Crowe The old rule i lived by was when I couldn't process my feelings, thoughts, and my emotions. I'd turn to alcohol cocaine and benzos. The new rules I live by are when my thoughts, feelings, and emotions are running high. I'd use my tools to get me through it. I'd exercise or go fir a walk. Use journaling to process this. Write affirmation and Gratitudes. Use meditation.

So this reset is about learning how to understand yourself… Without attacking yourself.Without blaming yourself.Without shaming yourself. Just clarity.” “Each week, you’ll get short videos.Simple daily tasks.Nothing overwhelming. Small actions.Small reflections.Small upgrades. Designed to move you… From survival modeTo self-leadershipOne step at a time.” All I’m asking is this: Show up. Be honest.Try the exercises. You don’t need to be perfect. You don’t need to feel ready. You just need to be willing.” “There is nothing wrong with you. You are not broken. You were trained. And training can be updated. Let’s begin.”

Three behaviours that helped me survive in my pasted was. 1 Solvents, alcohol and drugs. 2. I was the clown at the party. Always the loudest and wanting to be centre of attention. 1. I'd also wear a mask for different occasions. So there would be 4 or 5 different Paul's.
