Follow store owners, how are you managing it all?
Hey everyone, I run an online store too, and lately I’ve been feeling that constant juggle—between managing inventory, handling customers, keeping up with marketing… and still trying to grow. I’m curious—how are you all balancing things? Do you handle everything yourself, or do you outsource certain tasks? I’d love to hear what’s working for others in here. Always looking for better ways to streamline and support each other. Let’s share some ideas—what’s your current biggest challenge running your store?

To outsource anything, you really have to know the task well. so you should know what the outcome will be. when I outsource anything, I want the end result, and don't do it by time. I just want the result. every time I have used time, it cost more that I expected, and site like Upwork, rebill constantly.

All About SEO and Digital Marketing
Welcome After spending over 20 years at various digital marketing agencies doing SEO and Analytics, Google Ads have now come out—maybe out of the closet, LOL. My background is in marketing and online analytics. I've seen lots of small businesses make mistakes and not understand the game. Check out the first classroom SEO intensive to understand my background and the sorts of things I do. I talk a lot about measurement, about doing things, analytics, and understanding the game. >>> Check Out The SEO Intensive Training

The SEO space is dominated by big players, well established site with Age and history. Both SEO and PPC is difficult, the only way you have a change is go after the niche areas - specific to a part of the market, either location or service offering. these market are open for Special Offers as they don't do anything to enhance conversion eg: in the building market, I have seen a build offer a chance to win dinner for 2 (up to a certain value) for projects started this month. these industry's have bland (lack of )offers, you need a point of difference.

@Sha Rahim Its such an opinionated industry, because there is so many opinions (that work sometimes but not others, and are stated as facts) - The Guys at AHrefs (and the Youtube Channel) would be the most honest start. They have been around a long time. if you are looking for a 1+1 = results - there isn't one.
I wrote this while ago, and thought it might help those with online stores
-------------------- This area is how I approach e-commerce 1. Benchmarking Before making any changes, it's crucial to understand what’s happening. Key factors include conversion rates, heat mapping, top-performing traffic sources, and email list segmentation. At Briscoes (ecom with 10 K Skus) I set up their e-commerce store and gained valuable experience in data performance. I discovered that visitors who clicked on a product image (instead of a text link) had a 50% higher customer value. I also focused on website optimisation, growing organic revenue to $20,000 per month by the third month. ---side note - a smaller site would not have grown as fast--- 2. Quick Wins Small changes can drive big results. For example, if a Google Ads search term performs well, where does the site rank organically for the same term? Many websites overlook internal content to support organic growth. Side note: I’ve noticed Google deprioritizing content pages that aren’t internally linked as important. 3. Growth Strategy The key ways to grow are: - Increasing repeat sales - Boosting average order value (AOV) - Improving conversion rate optimization (CRO) - Driving more traffic and diversifying sources A key strategy is refining what already works—A/B testing ads and setting up a robust tracking system—before experimenting with new methods. At a natural health eCommerce company, we tested direct mail using an excess of printed newsletters. We added a unique coupon code to track sales and hand-delivered them to a local area with the right demographic. The result? Zero sales—helping us avoid wasting money on a larger rollout. ----------------My thought on what to focus - it's always going to be on traffic, more eyeballs gives more data. Paid advertising will work fast, especially Google Shopping, and having an effective paid strategy gives you control. Most likely it will not do well when you first start it so be prepared to invest to learn, and focus on reviews to increase conversion from ads --------
