Best ferro rod in my opinion Strike force is the best in my opinion. It’s easy to hold which makes it easy for kids to learn. For me tho. The ferro rod its self has a handle on it. With one arm you can step on the handle and scrape the rod with your hand. Plus if had this thing 20 plus years. I’ve used it in every season and weather element you can think of. My woods has a creek running through it. And pines on both sides. So I went with pine and birch bark for this exercise.

What failed the first time you tried natural tinder in wet conditions? What corrected it?

I think I fell upon this site in December. At some point, January had a bow drill fire challenge. Better late than never lol
