so the 1.0.36 version asked me if i want to update - said yes, it downloaded then said it wrote a zip file to my desktop, i said OK to the popup. it then asked again if i wanted to update.. the download zip is NOT on my desktop, its: C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\CalSync\updates\CalSync-Update-1.0.37.zip the check for updates process via the need a little TLC -- going to the zip file to extract the exe and run the update while 1.0.36 is still running to see what happens.,..
🚨 Windows Users — This Just Got WAY Easier
We’ve officially rolled out a Windows Installer for CalSync. No more manual setup. No more extra steps. Just download, install, and go. 👇 Download the latest version here (1.0.36) : https://www.einkpads.io/api/calsync/win32/releases/latest This is a big step toward making CalSync smoother and more accessible for everyone. If you’ve been waiting for a simpler Windows experience… this is it. As always — keep the feedback coming. We’re building this with you.

@Jason Smith Thanks, so local cache is in the appdata\local folder structure in windows? nothing is stored in the program install folders? before this new installer, I have been overwriting my calcsync folder/files with your new updates and assumed some files in that directory were not overwritten. The program installed here: C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\Programs\calsync and the installer downloaded here?: C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\calsync-updater

this is where my config is stored? C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\CalSync
⚠️ Help Us Fix Connection Issues (Quick Poll)
version 1.0.34 - We’re dialing in connection stability across all setups — but here’s the reality: Everyone’s environment is different. Different tablets. Different OS. Different networks. So we need your help to pinpoint exactly where things are breaking. 🔍 First — answer this: Can you successfully connect CalSync to your tablet? 💬 Then drop a comment with: (THIS is where we get the real data) - Your tablet model (reMarkable 1 / 2 / Paper Pro) - Your OS (Mac / Windows / Linux) - How you’re connecting: - What actually happens: 🍳 Why this matters We’re basically trying to cook one dish that works for thousands of different setups. And right now, the “spice levels” are hitting differently depending on your environment. This poll + your comments will help us isolate patterns fast and fix this properly.

thanks, found it -- since i have your attention, two things: I am not sure if you have fixed the folder name for backups being the ssh password yet, is it fixed? also, I would like to secure my calendar behind a token or a user/pwd vs wide open as it is now. what is that status of that feature (I know you said its in the queue and its a common request) thanks, Patrick
Feature Request - cal sync - dynamic 'has notes' index
Your tool is poised to do something no other template device can do: Create a dynamic index page(s) at the beginning of the calendar file that point to "Pages that have annotations of any kind" - its my major heartburn with remarkable. large template in use (calendar etc) - notes everywhere, no easy way to get to them (sure, search can work, and everyone suggests I maintain my own main page noting where my notes are - WHO has time for that) But it seems your tool could do something no other tool can - when you stitch together the calsync with my notes you could do one of two things: 1. on the yearly and monthly cal view with all the days of the year/month, put a marker DOT next to the number, signifying this date "has user notes" - easy for me to see in one place WHERE i wrote something 2. build an index page listing date that has notes..
