OUCH!!! OUCH!!! OUCH!!!!
Ok! Where are my 40 plus members??? I was at the rink last Friday and stopped to help a little girl get up...long came two other teen girls behind me and I tumbled over. I didn't think anything of it. i got up, helped the three little girls up, and I kept skating. Finished the session, then the next day came!!! Oh my my my... it took my all week to recover! Lol... it hurts a lot more and a lot longer after "a little tumble" . My goodness... I have muscles that I did not know existed!!! Good news: nothing is broken 😀 I'm back at it tonight 🤪

@Dr. Osborne oh dear! I meant kids weigh less so falling is easier on them. I’m 15 lbs more than I was then 😭 I wear padded shorts and wrist guards and stay away from furniture.

How do I make my body look less awkward.
I feel like the prettiest T. rex ever. Tips to get this torso in check? just a sloppy flow - I was already over 3 hours in my body tapping out I’ll take any pointers

Funny how critical we are about ourselves

We had a great call going over some of what I consider to be, the fundamentals of roller skating. I felt the need to explain the fundamentals because it's what I teach every week in all my beginner classes, and it applies to even the more advanced skills skaters are trying to develop. I thought this would be useful for the most amount of people. I focus on three main concepts in this lesson, which are: - Edges - Weight distribution - Weight transfer from one foot to the other When you understand some of these key concepts, then you start to understand what you're doing with your body or what someone else is doing when you're watching and trying to learn from someone else. That helps you focus and duplicate more effectively. I give examples for beginner levels and advanced levels, and some drills on how to practice it and explanations on understanding it. Tell me what y'all think.

Good skate lesson. The 3rd party should turn his sound off, lots of shuffling noise
left Skate pulling to the right
Hi! I am a beginner and got my first pair of skates second hand. one of them is constantly pulling inwards, which I have to work against constantly. I am pretty sure it is not a posture problem, as it keeps happening if I just roll it on a flat surface without wearing it. Any ideas what I could do?

I guess it’s like buying a bike. If you get a cheap one you’re not going to want to ride. Gears don’t shift when they should, etc. Live and learn. Are all the wheels spinning freely?

@Mina Becke Recently I sold my Sure Grip Boardwalks and Moxi Beach Bunny skates (both size 7) to a girl who only had a pair of Chicago skates. She was in heaven and bought both of them. Said her shoe size is 9. They were a little big for me since now I have 2 pair of skates in size 6. (My shoe size is 7.5) The Boardwalks were barely broken in but enough to realize they should probably be shorter.

@Shawntay Chaney What a pretty name. I’m afraid to be outside. I freak every time a wheel feels like it’s hit a crack, even in the floor. 😏 I’m not totally hopeless but slow when it comes to getting over certain fears.
