Hey everyone, We're hosting a brand new, free 3-day event next week called Mixing with Channel Strips. It starts Monday Dec 15th at 10am Eastern (earlier than usual). I'll be mixing a song from start to finish, using only channel strips. This is a great way to force yourself to focus on core principles, while also keeping things simple and adding analog character. On day 3, we'll also master the track, and listen to your submitted mixes, with prizes for the best. Hello family. I just got done building my new monster machine. It's an AMD Ryzen9 5950X CPU, Asus X570-E gaming WiFi motherboard, 64 GB Corsair Vengeance 3200 MHz RAM, 2 1TB NVME Samsung 990 Evo SSD's, XFX RX 580 8GB GPU and Thermalright 750 watt power supply. It's running Windows 11 Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Reaper DAW. It's all mounted in a 4U rack mount chassis. So far I have about $1000 in this system in all. What are your thoughts on this system. What would you do differently and why?

Would anyone else like to have a good FAQ (frequently asked questions)? @J Es and I wrote the official FAQ for the Fix The Mix live events a year ago. If so, we will post it again. This will hopefully help the newcomers and even some of the more experienced people find information that can be helpful as well. What are your thoughts?

Just saw this video released a couple of days ago comparing an original digital master to vinyl, reel-to-reel, cassette, apple lossless and spotify best quality. I find it interesting because a few years ago I compared three copies I have of Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd - being vinyl, CD and apple lossless - my thoughts really eched the finding in this video, but of course when I mentioned this online many said "different mixes" etc. And yet.
