AI...
AI.... SOooooo.... thought I might throw out a 'controversial' topic.... what do peeps think of using AI generated parts in their music? Are you having success? Inspiration? I know I have been very pleasantly surprised in a variety of ways and would love to hear your experiences. :D

My point of view is that AI is generating music that is the average of all the music in the genre asked for - aka Lowest Common Denominator. And it's "perfect." But I like surprise and human flaws in my music. Most of my favourite singers are not "great" singers, but then can tell a great story while doing it to a melody.
Website updated
Some nice work by Caleb on the website builder he put together. Being a former graphic designer I have a few sites of my own (I'm a Wordpress guy because of the flexibility). Always I just updated my music production site and would love to get any feedback on it: https://purebredmutt.ca I would like to see the layout a bit wider so may have to change the template, but what do you think? Thanks

@Petter Jensen Thank you. I find the new version of Wordpress has less control over text sizing so I'll have to dig into CSS and take deeper control. And yes, I agree about the text logo - so I'll probably just change template first to find a better layout.

What's your business goal?
With the Studio Launch Challenge coming up next week (info here) I thought it would be fun to get an idea of what everyone here is working towards. Answer below!

My goal is to make supplemental income as a semi-retired musician. I am, unfortunately, slowed down because of health issues but still love music.
Starting My New Journey: 2 Plugins Per Week | 8 Plugins Per Month | 96 Plugins Per Year
I finally did an inventory of all the plugins I own… and the number is around 300 🤯 But they are useless if I don’t truly know them. So I’m starting a long-term journey of studying and testing each plugin, beginning with the most important ones. My plan: - 2 plugins per week - 3 days study per plugin - at least 1 hour each day - Sunday review of both plugins That means 8 plugins per month and so 96 plugins per year. I’m committing to some understanding how each plugins shapes tone, dynamics, color, and workflow. It’s going to take time and patience. But honestly… there’s no other way. Is there? Gotta do it!

If you do a short video of each and post to YouTube that would be a great resource.
What's your DAW?
What DAWs is everyone using and why did you choose that particular one or more? Mine is Steinberg Nuendo 4.3. I also just got FL Studio.

@James Harris Not too many people using Harrison Mixbus. I have an old copy but had some audio I/O issues with it so stopped using it. But there was a lot to like about it - and it's the only DAW that was audibly different, very warm sound.

Logic - although I own a bunch of DAWs. I do use Reaper for projects with a friend who is PC only. I love and hate that Reaper is so flexible - if I had more desire to get into the guts and make it exactly what I want it would be great, but I don't have that desire and I understand Logic quite well. Cubase is quite good as well, but I also hate having to pay for upgrades lol
