@Bertie Fletcher Watching the game on the next field 😃 oh, that is class 😄😄 That's actually another big topic to discuss, and maybe we can get some good comments and advices from another keepers here - How to do they stay concentrated, present and alert when it's not busy for them!! I see my son loosing sometimes concentration when its not busy, and thats what the coach said. And well , if I am in the goal for my son in the garden I can easily loose it myself and get wrist damaged a bit as I wasn't fully prepared and alert! But about the article- its a good one, I agree! Good to be relaxed, calm and enjoy it. Trust yourself and your experience.

@Dexter Allan Agree! J4K is sharing good knowledge on goalkeeping, its a lot about mindset for a keeper and the trusted basics, trained continuously untill its natural.
SUCCESS Sunday - What Was Your Win This Week?
Each week, I invite you to share your biggest win. This isn't about the scoreline, but rather what aspects of your goalkeeping you improved or what new product you got to enhance your game. Additionally, can you name three things you are grateful for? These don't have to be goalkeeper-related. The reason I do this is simple: everyone has tough weeks. Reflecting on and writing down your recent wins and what you're grateful for is a PROVEN way to realise that life is pretty great and you're a very lucky person. To get you started, here’s my win and what I'm thankful for this week: MY WIN: Getting over 5700 members and growing in this community, WHAT I AM GRATEFUL FOR: 1. Finally getting the free course live for you guys. 2. The amazing weather we have been having. 3. Adding another 9 goalkeepers to the J4K goalkeeper glove sponsorship program. Share your win below and what you’re grateful for. Let's keep INSPIRING each other - Comment below, whats your wins.👇👇👇 And Remember, you are ALOT better off than what you may think ❤️

@Will Hopkins Ok, I understand. So by saying you are training 5 times a week now, that's your regular trainings in your club? Do you get someone to train you more as a goalkeeper on these trainings or its more genaral for all the team? It's good you have a chance for extra gk trainings on Thursdays and hopefully you will do them more as they are very essential for you as a keeper! Like a good former pro english keeper and a great coach for 19 years, and the founder of J4K GK academy in Dublin Ireland Matthew Gregg said - at J4K session a keeper will save, catch distribute the ball around 150 times. At a regular session with his team the keepers might have less than 10 touches with hands! So special gk trainings are very beneficial, try to do them more if available, they are essential! And usually J4K team would go to different countries to run few days GK camps/trainings, though dont know about Canberra, that's very far away.

@Will Hopkins Hopefully you gk trainings will be more regularly, as they are very beneficial for you, as a goalkeeper!! Good luck to you and keep it up!
How to help wrist pains
How do you like to protect your wrists? I used to not do anything but I’m going to start taping do to ongoing problems that led to a long 3 hour all inclusive trip full of CBEEBIES at A&E yesterday afternoon. Nothing to worry about really expect some muscle strains and 5 weeks of pain coming up. How many of you tape or do just ice afterwards. This is my values post

@Joseph Weidner Cool! That's what I was going to say - to do strength trainings for wrists! To prevent . That's what pro gk and coach recommended to keepers, as well as gloves with wrist support and tape if necessary.

@Xavier Stark @Joseph Weidner well, good wrist strength is great to have for anyone, especially for gk parent😀. I stand in goals for my son , and his shots are crazy strength for a 9 year old I do calisthenics too and a good wrist strength is a must!!

First time on the 7-day leaderboard and reaching Level 6!!
I’ve just noticed I appear in the 7-day leaderboard and also reached Level 6. Nothing extraordinary, but definitely exciting for me to see after only a few days here. I’m really enjoying contributing and sharing my experience both as a goalkeeper and as a goalkeeper parent — not as a coach yet… but who knows in the future. What I really like is the mix of perspectives — goalkeepers, parents, and coaches — all sharing experiences from different angles. It makes the conversations much richer. Really enjoying being part of this community 🧤 Thank you everyone!!
