Anyone else attended football camps this Easter? Easter football camp for Ivor this week and he picked up the star player trophy for his attitude, behaviour and obviously his football skills too. Really proud of Ivor, 4 long days at football camp and he smashed it, playing outfield as well as in goal.

Behind every young goalkeeper is a parent making quiet sacrifices that often go unseen. Early mornings, late nights, long drives in all weather… standing on the sidelines in the cold, the wind, and the rain. Washing muddy kits, buying gloves that barely last a season, and always being there—win, lose, or draw. Goalkeeping isn’t the glamorous position. It takes courage, resilience, and a mindset that not everyone understands. And as parents, you feel every save, every mistake, every moment—but you still show up with unwavering support. You’re not just raising a goalkeeper—you’re helping build confidence, character, and strength that will last far beyond the pitch. To all the parents backing their number 1… your sacrifices don’t go unnoticed.

Reaching Level 8 (out of 9) feels like a great milestone for me. First of all, a big thank you to everyone in this community. The welcome, the collaboration, and the overall positive atmosphere here are something special. It’s not just about goalkeeping—it’s about people willing to help, share experiences, and support each other. This forum has helped me a lot—not so much as a goalkeeper anymore, as I’m probably in the final stage of that journey—but as a goalkeeper parent, and it’s helping my son as well in his beginnings. It’s also helped me improve my English (which is definitely a bonus 😉). I really enjoy both sides of this: helping others when I can, and also asking for advice and learning from all of you. Now… onto the next challenge. Level 9 feels like a different league altogether—I’ve reached around 8K points, and I still need 24K more points for the next level… basically like doing everything all over again, three times 😅. But step by step. The next big target: making it into the all-time leaderboard. Thanks again to everyone—this is a great place to be.
