Supplier Pricing
Hey Shad, I'm currently reaching out to supplier and was wondering if you have any tactics/tricks to get lower prices?

Hi, Seb I'm actually coming across a similar issue, could I also ask Shad if you have any tactics/tricks in terms of international shipping (sometimes shipping is more expensive than the product) and how that gets considered into the total cost for the customer?

Just scrolling for suppliers on alibaba, I understand that this is the minimum order but am I crazy to think this kind of ridiculous for a product that is $45 NZD, is the only possible reason that it is shipped using sea freight?
Finding a Good Supplier
Hi everyone I'm currently a university student launching a student-focused kitchenware brand in New Zealand. It's a bundle of essential kitchen items (like cutlery, pans, utensils, etc.) designed specifically for students and first-time flatters. The goal is to offer convenience, aesthetic appeal, and an all-in-one solution, something that saves time and looks great in any flat. I'm currently looking to connect with reliable suppliers (local or international) who can provide: - Quality kitchenware (individual items or complete sets) - Low to moderate MOQs (since I'm starting small) - Potential for private labelling or pastel-coloured options (unisex, Gen Z aesthetic) Would love advice on: - Best ways to approach and vet suppliers - Red flags to avoid - Anyone with experience sourcing similar home or kitchen goods Open to both wholesale and small-batch private label options for now not currently looking for pure dropshipping, but flexible if there's a good model. Happy to chat further or provide a visual reference.

Thanks for the advice Shad I'm already in contact with some suppliers hopefully some good results from that. Love the idea of pitching it to Airbnbs and hadn’t thought about retirement homes or hotels, but that could definitely be another channel once I’ve got the product and packaging locked in. I’ll keep you posted as samples start rolling in and I get some prototypes together would be awesome to have you check them out. I’ve also been thinking a lot about building a strong brand around this, not just selling products, but creating a community with students and young flatters. (Tons of content opportunity). Can you give me some thoughts on some of the mock ups I've made (Most likely be campus posters plastered around uni) Cheers Ody

Looks like a similar product line to what I am proposing however it doesn't seem to target any particular demographic nor does it seem to be tapped into the nz market
UGC Marketing
Quick question has anyone here had experience using UGC (User-Generated Content) to market physical products I’m considering using UGC creators to build trust and hype on TikTok and Instagram, but I’d love to hear: - How you structured deals (paid, gifted, affiliate, etc.) - What worked (or didn’t work) in terms of content type or script - Any red flags or lessons learned when working with smaller creators Appreciate any advice, examples, or tools you recommend.
