I can relate to the fear of being hurt again. When you've lost people after being honest about who you are, it's hard not to become more guarded. I'm also an introvert, so clubs and crowded places aren't really my thing either. Personally, I think meaningful connections don't always happen in loud social settings. Sometimes they grow from smaller communities, shared hobbies, volunteering, book clubs, hiking groups, or even online communities like this one. It may not be that you're doing something wrong. Finding people who genuinely accept you can simply take time, especially when you live in a place that isn't very queer-friendly. I hope you don't give up. The right people won't make you feel like you have to hide who you are. Wishing you the best, and I hope this community becomes one of the places where you can build those connections. 💙
