So here is my funeral attire, at least one of them. I know that theres a lot of different preferences when it comes to funerals, but I've chosen the all black look with a hint of pizzazz! One of my teacher's grandmother passed away a couple days ago from old age. She was 97 years old had a good life. The whole family came out and it was nice to see them. Just thought I would add some context to it.

I'm out of town for one evening for a few appointments this afternoon and tomorrow morning, so I'm taking the opportunity this evening to take an old friend out to dinner. After taking the picture, I realized I had several things in one inside jacket pocket. I've since rearranged them so the jacket would sit evenly. I'd post an outfit rundown, but I'm running late as it is - too much time waiting in waiting rooms and on traffic...

Alright gentlemen, let's talk about something different - cooking! I am admittedly a Robert A. Heinlein fan, so I'll share this quote with you: “A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.” ― Robert A. Heinlein For this post, let's just focus on that "cook a tasty meal" portion... The demand for gentlemen in today’s world did not disappear, the supply did!

Another Thursday, another opportunity to be intentional about how I show up. But to be honest, the days of the week really don’t matter. Being intentional is an everyday thing — today just happens to be Thursday! 😎 Today is warm and humid here in Greenvale, with thunderstorms expected later, so I wanted something light, comfortable and appropriate for an August office day without losing the sense of polish that matters to me. Light trousers, a crisp white shirt, brown shoes, coordinating belt and socks, and the Panama for when I’m outside. Nothing complicated. But none of it is accidental either. That is probably the common thread running through most of the things I do. I enjoy taking the time to think about the details — not because every detail needs to be noticed by somebody else, but because I notice them. For me, intentionality is really about deciding what my standards are and then trying to live by them consistently. And underneath all of that is gratitude. I am grateful that I get to wake up each morning, go to work, spend time with the people I care about, continue learning, and still find enjoyment in something as simple as choosing what I’m going to wear that day. I never want those ordinary days to become so ordinary that I stop appreciating them. So today’s outfit is relatively simple. But the mindset behind it isn’t. Be intentional. Be grateful. And make the most of the day you’ve been given. 😎
