NEW YEAR NEW ME......nah!!!
I don't need to be a new me, there was nothing wrong with the old me that a little self love and understanding can't fix. Reality is we will always be the same person, but how we chose to react to problems and adversity can change how we perceive ourselves and our worth. Don't change, just be a better version day by day.

That hits home! Just be a better version of yourself day by day. Awesome statement!
The penny dropped.
Since the age of around 10 I have suffered from a trauma that affected every facet of my life. Since meeting Dave and joining The Everyman Project, not only has my physical condition never been better, but my mental condition has allowed me to challenge all those negative things that held me in prison. Mental and physical often go hand in hand and I began a parallel journey on both. Today for the first time since I was 10, I saw myself differently. Looking back at me from the mirror was someone who had become proud of his achievements and knew his self worth. I have never had pictures of myself, let alone with my shirt off. Now I'm proud and determined more so than before. Its a change anyone can begin. I don't deceive myself that I have arrived, but now I celebrate along the way. Its a great feeling to begin throwing off the shackles. If you are wondering how to start.....talk to someone snd get the ball rolling. There will never be a perfect time.

This is such a good message and probably resonates with so many people here. Thank you for sharing this personal story
Reach out to someone
I know we struggle on a daily basis but what can we do to help someone else today?
Reach out to someone

This is such a great post. I was just talking to my wife about this. I feel like people that I grew up with in the military from basic training until now have passed away. It’s sad, but a lot of it could be avoided if people had an outlet and someone to reach out to that they felt comfortable with. I always noted put my best foot forward trying to help people because I know that’s what I would want if I was ever in a dark spot.
2 year anniversary
So today I reached a milestone I didn’t think I could imagine reaching, as part of my fitness plan I decided to try and stop drinking for 6 Months and now reached the milestone of 2 years Alcohol free. Being a 53 year old Man who’s been drinking since 15/16 year old, this had been one of the biggest achievements in my life. Although I was never Alcohol dependent but just enjoyed a drink it has been great waking up clear headed and more productive at work and having a better relationship with my wife. I’m not saying I will never drink again but for the time being bring it on 💪💪💪

Bob, that is such a wonderful milestone and I’m very glad that you shared it with this community. That is something to be very proud of and if I can offer any words of encouragement, I would say keep up the hard work and don’t let the demons win.
Find the balance
We can train hard Eat clean Work hard But if we are not working on our mental health,we are leaving results on the table. How can we become the best versions of ourselves if we aren’t trying to strengthen ourselves mentally. Just a thought…..what do you think? My biggest battles are the ones I have with myself!

This is such a good discussion post because it’s so true. I’ve been in the army for 19 1/2 years and retire in July. It sucks to know that my mental health has only been taken care of consistently for about the last year. I have definitely seen improvements with talking to counselors, being on medication’s, and overall trying to improve my relationship relationships with people.
