A lot of you have been asking about Upwork specifically, and while this group is not about 'how to win clients on Upwork,' I think there IS a place in this world for Upwork discussion that isn't the hive of negativity formerly known as Reddit. So...here you go! Have at it. What's working for you right now? What isn't?

For graphic design - nothing is really working on Upwork for me. I feel like I have better luck pitching clients in person. Maybe my profile is crap. I dunno. I just think the market is oversaturated there. Maybe I don't have the chops to really stand out in that area alone.

@Kip Piper That's my dream too. I was a single mother early in life and I've had my nose to the grindstone since. I got to live 8 months in Mexico in 2015 (amazing), but that's really all the travel I've been able to do so far. I'm working toward the dream being completely mobile by the end of 2026! My list of places to visit: Albania / Greece / Montenegro; and a 3 month motorcycle and hiking trip to the Faroes / Iceland / Northern Scotland. I agree that 3 months is the perfect amount of time.

@Mike Figueroa Oh you're most welcome - and thank you. It was surely brutal. Nature will humble us all eventually. Be that as it may, I'm finding there is something energizing about starting over with nothing. Like Kip said below, it's a reinvention.
