Can't believe I passed DP-700 with just 4 days of preparation
I passed DP-700 a couple of weeks back just after 4 days of preparation from Will's DP-700 YouTube series and want to share the story behind it. I had the free exam voucher Thanks to the Microsoft Learn Challenge. Though I had enough time to prepare, procrastination won and I found myself 4-5 days before the exam date (after which, voucher would've been expired). I knew I couldn't prepare it given that I took months to prepare for DP-600 previously. But I Decided to give it a try and started watching Will's DP-700 Series. I couldn't complete it before the exam and decided to binge watch the last few videos on 2x speed on the exam day. Midway to the exam, I was pretty sure I'll be failing this one but kept pushing. Marked the ones that I wasn't sure about and reviewed them at the end of each session. AND GUESS WHAT ... I passed the exam!!! This shows just how accurate and beneficial Will's videos are. Can't Thank You enough!!! Love this Community and learning vibe!

@Will Needham No ... I don't use Fabric at work ... I think the thorough preparation for DP-600 might've helped me in DP-700 ... I took months in preparation for DP-600 and got hands-on with the Fabric.

@John Britto Thank You!
Current Open Job Listings mentioning Fabric
There's been a few questions/ discussions about future jobs within Fabric. We're beginning to see companies recruiting for Fabric roles... exciting! Here's a few I found: Lead Data Modeler - Microsoft Fabric Senior Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric) Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric) GERMAN Microsoft Fabric Engineer (BELGIUM) Senior Consultant - Databricks and Microsoft Fabric Data & Analytics Engineer Principal and Senior consultant level Microsoft Fabric Data & Analytics Consultants I had the idea to create a video reviewing some of these job ads and picking out the common themes, to help people understand what they might need to focus on to get jobs in the future - what do you think of that concept? What you find that interesting? Let me know!

That would be an interesting video. I also have been exploring the open job positions related to Fabric and I felt that most of these require Data Engineering experience. Coming from a Data Science/ Data Analytics background, this seems a bit challenging. What role could DP-600 play in this scenario? I feel like doing some portfolio Data Engineering intensive projects within the Fabric ecosystem might provide a chance to meet the expectations.

@Rafal Andrearczyk Agreed! I talked to one of the Data Managers and they said that they don't want to switch to MS Fabric until it gets a stable release. Though I didn't totally agree with their approach, I feel like there's still a year or two left before we can see a decent demand of the Fabric Experts in the job market. Would be very interested to hear other people's experiences in this regard!
Making progress with Fabric? SHARE YOUR WINS!
What have you been working on this week in Fabric? I'd LOVE to hear more about what you're building, or what you're learning. So please share you Fabric WINS below (no matter how small)!! Maybe you built your first data pipeline? Or you wrote a Python notebook to transform some datasets? Or you built a Direct Lake semantic model? Or you did some learning modules? What are you currently learning? Looking forward to hearing what you're working on and celebrating your successes!

I'm currently going through the Microsoft Learn modules for DP-600 and got half way through šŸŽ‰. Will be continuing with this learning. Also, I'm planning to work on a live Power BI Dashboard for Pakistan vs New Zealand Cricket Series which would just show the live scores. Won't be focusing much on the UI or visualizations, instead, I want to get hands on with the streaming data in the fabric environment. I'm struggling to find any APIs for live cricket scores. Any suggestions on a livestream consumable data, not necessarily related to cricket, would be much appreciated.

Hello Everyone! Just joined the Community. Here's my quick introduction: This is Muteeullah Baig from Pakistan. I'm currently working as a Power BI Analyst and dreaming to become Fabric Solutions Architect (I hope we have this role in the next 5 years and Will continue to make videos šŸ™). Joined this community after following Will's content on other Social Platforms. Fabric being one stop shop for all the data solutions excites me the most and I'm really interested to learn and be an expert in Notebooks with PySpark. I've started learning Fabric from Microsoft Learn Today and looking to get certified. Looking Forward to an interactive Fabric Community.
