Introduction
šŸ‘‹ Hey there! I’m Minnā, and I’m learning to steward the oil God has given me in the area of storytelling, inner healing, creativity, and prophetic encouragement. My oil flows through books, music, and content that speaks to people in the in-between seasons of life—the ones who feel hidden, delayed, or overlooked. šŸ•Šļø I joined the Oil Room because I want to finish my healing-focused book, build Spirit-led digital products, and stop shrinking back from the weight of what God’s placed in me. It’s my finishing season, and I’m not doing it alone anymore! šŸ“Where I’m from: Originally from Flint, Michigan—now in Colorado Springs for a divine pause. (Leaving ASAP) šŸƒšŸ¾ā€ā™€ļø that’s another story!!! 😭 šŸ’¬ One thing I’m believing God for this month: Supernatural clarity, open doors for provision, and divine momentum to walk fully in what He’s assigned me to build. Excited to be here with y’all! Let’s pour together. šŸ™šŸ¾āœØ

Devotional"The God Who Sees Me" Genesis 21:9-21
Genesis 21:9-21 For every woman who’s ever felt abandoned, invisible, or unsure of her next step… this is for you. ā€œThen God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water.ā€ – Genesis 21:19 Hagar wasn’t just a maidservant. She was a mother. A woman. A soul created in the image of God. Yet her story starts with being used, dismissed, and cast out. Genesis 21 is a chapter many of us know by heart, even if we’ve never read it. Because we’ve lived it. We’ve been her. We know what it’s like to be left to figure things out with a child on our hip and pain in our chest. We’ve cried out to God in empty rooms with bills due and no idea how to stretch the little we have. We’ve sat in silence after realizing the man who fathered our child has moved on—and we weren’t part of the plan. Like Hagar, we’ve wandered. Not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually—disoriented, desperate, trying to make it work. And like her, we’ve come to that wilderness moment: No money. No answers. No backup. Just tears and questions. But it was in that place—the place of breaking—that God opened her eyes. Not only did He show her a hidden well… He gave her a prophetic word about her son’s future. He told her: ā€œI see you. I see him. I’ve got you both.ā€ Hagar met God personally in that moment. Not through Abraham. Not through Sarah. But through a direct encounter. She met El-Roi — The God Who Sees Me. šŸ™šŸ½ A Word for You Today You are not invisible. You are not forgotten. And the wilderness is not the end of your story—it’s the place where vision is restored and identity is birthed. You may not know what’s next, but God does. You may not have it all together, but God is holding it all. He sees you. He hears you. He will not leave you. šŸ”„ Journal Prompt: Have you had a "Hagar moment"? A time when God saw you in your lowest place and made a way? Write it down. Or better yet—share your story in the comments to encourage someone else who’s still in the wilderness. šŸŽ§ Worship Moment: Let this truth wash over you.

šŸŽÆ Let’s Practice Hooks Because That’s Why They’re Scrolling Past You
The first line of your post, your video, your title it matters. You only have three seconds... We call it the hook and if it’s weak, nobody’s sticking around to hear your anointed, life-changing message. Let me say it again: āš ļø The algorithm isn’t your problem. Your opening line is. So let’s practice. Try turning your next message into a scroll-stopper by using one of these hook formulas or come up with your own: šŸ”„ Hook Templates You Can Use: ā€œNobody talks about thisā€¦ā€ → Creates curiosity and signals a truth-bomb is coming. ā€œGod told me to tell you thisā€¦ā€ → Instant authority + intrigue for your prophetic people. ā€œI almost quit yesterday. Here’s why I didn’t.ā€ → Vulnerability + tension = perfect storytelling setup. ā€œThis post will offend religious people. Read anyway.ā€ → Bold, disruptive, and makes people pay attention. ā€œThe #1 reason your content isn’t working (and how to fix it)ā€ → Value-driven and specific. Gets clicks from serious builders. ā€œIf you’re a Christian woman who’s tired of hiding — read this.ā€ → Calls out the exact person you're speaking to. Direct = effective. ā€œYou don’t need another job. You need this strategy.ā€ → Provocative + benefit-focused. Other hooks: Did you know that... This may ruffle a few feathers.... šŸ›  Now Your Turn: Start working on your hooks this week. Come up with 10 and post them below. Then we will work on the story part on another post. P.S. A hook isn’t always words. 🧠 Sometimes your bonnet is the hook. šŸ‘  Sometimes it’s a shoe in the background. 🤯 Sometimes it’s just something weird that makes people stay to see what on earth you’re about to say. Use the visual. Use the unexpected. Use anything that makes them stop scrolling. Now… what’s your next hook?

šŸ“š How Do You Know If Your Book Cover Is ā€œItā€? šŸ‘€šŸ”„
Let me tell you what I just learned... I recently heard something from Jenny Hansen Lane that stopped me in my tracks. She said: ā€œIf you’ve spent money on Amazon ads, had a bunch of impressions, and nobody is buying, it’s not the algorithm. It’s your cover.ā€ Whew. I looked at my own Amazon ad dashboard and sure enough, the impressions were there. The traffic was coming in. But the sales? Crickets. The hardest part? I liked my cover. I spent time on it. I thought it worked. But Amazon didn’t lie... the data said otherwise. So guess what? I’m going to change the cover. Again. Not because I want to but because I’d rather sell the oil than stay attached to a version that doesn’t work. šŸ‘‰ Here are 4 hard truths I’m sitting with: šŸ’” 1. Impressions without conversions = a problem If people are seeing your book but not buying, something’s not clicking. Often, it's the cover that’s not communicating value or trust fast enough. šŸ’” 2. A good cover isn’t just pretty. It needs to sell Your cover is your first (and sometimes only) chance to make a reader stop scrolling. It needs to speak the language of your genre and your reader’s pain point. šŸ’” 3. What works on Facebook may not work on Amazon The cover helped drive real sales through Facebook ads but it didn’t translate inside the Amazon ecosystem. That tells me the cover might resonate in social environments but not with cold Amazon shoppers who need instant trust and clarity. So, we need to find a cover that does well on both platforms that I am on. šŸ’” 4. You can’t afford to stay emotionally attached If it’s not converting, it’s costing you. Period. Let it go and move forward. Every successful author I know has gone through this exact thing. šŸ’ If you're running Amazon ads, check your impressions vs. sales. You might not need a new marketing plan. You might just need a new cover. And if you’ve ever had to pivot on your cover, drop your testimony below šŸ‘‡šŸ½ Let’s talk about it.

I have had this frustration with sales on Amazon i didn’t realize it was the cover I thought maybe the title or something else. But it makes sense because that’s the first impression
