I went to a conference yesterday and I want to share some of the notes I took. 🙌 I go to these events so you don’t always have to but honestly, if you ever get the chance, invest in yourself and go. Some of these conferences are truly life-changing. Sometimes all it takes is one idea, one spark, to move you forward with your oil. ✨ Two things I learned from yesterday: 1. I've been playing it too small 2. Who do I need to release to be able to do this and run the play! Women Speak & Grow Rich – Notes (Sept 20, 2025) Speaker: Dr. Sonja Stribling Core Principles of Speaking - Paid to Speak (old school): Get paid upfront for the talk. - Speak for Free: You’re writing your own check. The true blessing is beyond the stage (offers, clients, connections). Always make an offer—don’t “operate on people” and leave them open. - Pay to Play: If you lack presence on social media, you may pay to get stage access. But avoid “pay to play” if it only benefits their mailing list. - Speak to Sell: Only speak when you have a product/service to offer. Always align your talk with the right audience and opportunity. ➡️ My Flow of Priority: Speak to Sell → Pay to Play → Paid to Speak → Speak for Free. What’s yours? Pick one to start with and then the flow of priority. ➡️ Goal: Commit to 25 speaking opportunities in the next 12 months. Mindset & Messaging - Don’t worry if people can “afford it.” It's not your business to know what is in their pocket. Create value so they want it. - Sell results, not features. Position your product/service as transformation. Not motivation. - Speaking is the #1 vehicle to launch a business, product, or movement. - Teaching makes more money—leverage your expertise. - Always launch a product or book with a mic in your hand. (Big one) Personalities in the Room 1. Urchin: Detail-oriented. 2. Whale: Faith/ministry, servant-heart, must learn to ask for payment. 3. Dolphin: Excitement-driven, fun-seeking. 4. Shark: Aggressive go-getter, needs clarity and belief.
