Injuries in goal
Today we played a rough team. The parents are just as bad. Not long into first half a girl injured Hailey. She elbowed her to the head studded her hard in the leg and stood on her head!! She was down in pain for a minute or two. Got back up and she saved a goal straight away. And we beat them 9-1 and won cup final. Does anyone else get scared of their goalkeeper child getting bigger injuries? Shes 10.

I'm always worried about my 8 year old daughter getting injured both accidentally or intentionally. As confidence grows so does the level of risk going into the saves. We haven't come up against any teams like that yet though and I can only imagine how annoying and painful it is to watch. That does sound like an awful experience for both you watching and Hailey playing. Glad you beat them though 💪🏻💪🏻. Well done Hailey, a brilliant and brave performance.

@Hannah M Yeah disgusting behaviour. I say to Freya once you've got it in two hands it's safe and they have to stop / retreat. That team sounds like they want to win through violence, threats and fear. Great win and I hope they learn a lesson and also that someone reports them for it.

Brilliant Game Today
Freya and her team played a really tough team today and came away with a very respectable 5-4 loss. It felt like a win to her after previous games against them and she put in one heck of a shift. She got her hand stood on and had to take a few minutes out but she knew she wanted to be in this game to keep the score sheet under control so got back out there to see the game through. Respect to the opposition player for coming over to check on her. Once again not a win on the score sheet but it's always building her up in other ways
