Projects in a Paisley
Grabbed my charcoal brown ghosted plaid suit I had made in January 2014. Went with a white shirt and a paisley silk tie and a paisley wool pocket square. Shamrock cufflinks, Pantherella socks, shell cordovan Alden tassels (1982), Ernest Borel automatic watch from 1940’s Working on projects from home after a 6:30 meeting this morning.

That ghost plaid is nice. I don't think I've ever seen it on a suit before.
OOTD 27May
Starting to try and move away from faded blue jeans and running shoes for work. Working with what Ibhave until I can get what I want. Black jeans instead of blue. Black Converse instead of running sneakers. Cotton polo instead of the poly blend sports polos.polo. Wasn't sure what to do sock wise so I went with navy.

Not a fan of the bag. Everything else looks great.
T Shirts
Two questions: 1) What are some thoughts on undershirts? V-neck vs crew vs tank top styles? Must be white? 2) What are the rules behind wearing a T-shirt with a blazer or sport coat. Recently had a boss wear a t-shirt with our agency logo on it saying he was going to look “hip”. Thoughts? What about just a solid color t-shirt?

I've never tried a t-shirt with a blazer. If I ever do it would be a crew neck. For undershirts I have worn white crew necks under dress shirts and OCBDs for almost 40 years. Picked up the habit in boot camp. It's always been crew necks until recently. In the rabbit hole that eventually led me here, almost everyone was saying an undershirt shouldn't be seen. I'm trying out v-necks now. I like the look without the crew neck collar showing. I may stick with them.

The longer I delve into the CTM game, the more I like to focus on tiny details like operable sleeve buttons and fabrics. Post the morning rain on a beautiful work from home day, I took a stroll around the yard. I wore the same MTM 1997 Royal Blue blazer from a couple of days ago because it worked with the shirt and trouser I chose. I had them put operable buttons on the blazer but instead of the traditional brass blazer button (the most common blazer button), I opted for a pewter button with my initials: BMc. I liked the woven striped shirt with these new golden tan gaberdine summer weight wool trousers found my favorite mid rise double front pleated design. The pocket square seems to pull together the shirt colors including the gold stripe. The Rotary club met out at the 100 acre preserve this morning so I chose my Indianna Jones Alden boots for the trek. Pendleton socks and a Weneger field watch with a green and navy nato band and an O ring leather belt finished off the accessories.

@Dr. Jason Cole I noticed the same thing. @Brian McGuire makes wearing stripes look effortless.
