The ad that made people mad (and built our business)
The ad that built a huge chunk of our business made people mad. It asked, flat out: Is M.D. Cooper the next Larry Niven? Sci fi readers had OPINIONS. The comments lit up. And the clicks came. Here's the lesson I teach now: the goal of an ad is not to be liked. The goal is to be noticed. A polite ad that nobody reacts to is invisible. And invisible doesn't sell books. What's an ad idea you've been too nervous to run? Tell me. Let's pressure-test whether it's actually too bold, or just bold enough.

For a zombie series ad, it would be comparing it to The Walking Dead. While a lot of zompoc authors will put that as a comp in their book page description, I haven't seen it in an ad. I understand it gets clicks, but I'd be afraid the clicks wouldn't translate into sales.

In this week's video, Mal said use the "Maximize # of link clicks" for ads going to Amazon and "Maximize # of landing page views" for ads going to your website. What about a site like Curios?

In the feedback Mal gave me on my video, she suggested a transition between the last clip in the video and the end image. How do I do that in Canva? I've looked and can't figure it out.

@Malorie Cooper Thank you for the feedback on my re-done creatives. It all makes sense. One thing I don't know how to do is to put a transition between the video and the final slide in Canva. I've found where I can transition the text, but not the graphics.
