🥋🔥 JJFA CHECK-IN, REAL TALK 🔥🥋
Quick question for the room 👇 What’s the hardest part of Jiu-Jitsu for YOU right now? Not the highlight-reel stuff. Not what you wish you were good at. The real struggle. • Getting smashed and staying calm 😤 • Remembering techniques under pressure 🧠 • Cardio falling off halfway through rounds 🫁 • Confidence before training or competition 😬 • Balancing life + training + recovery ⚖️ • Or something nobody ever talks about… Drop it in the comments ⬇️ No judgment. No ego. Just growth. This community gets better when we’re honest. Somebody in here has already been through what you’re dealing with and that’s how we all level up 💪🔥 Let’s talk. Let’s build. Let’s roll. 🥋🤝

Having limitations def make certain positions a bit more difficult.
Favorite part of training?
I had a pretty good day today rolling. Things just seemed to click. It's good to have an on-day. Having said that, some days it feels like I just get subbed over and over again. Aside from that though, I was curious what is everybody's favorite part of class that has nothing to do with winning a roll?

So before we bow out, usually the last 10 minutes of every class or so, our professor allows us to ask questions about our rolls. So if anyone got caught in a position that stomped them, or got subbed n more questions on the defense,,, think that’s pretty cool
YOUR JIU-JITSU STORY STARTS HERE
🎥 INTRODUCE YOURSELF: This is your spot to step in, show your face (or voice 👀), and tell the community who you are and why jiu-jitsu matters to you. Post a short video (30–90 seconds) and hit as many of these as you want: 1️⃣ Who you are Name, where you’re from, and how long you’ve been training (or if you’re brand new). 2️⃣ Why you started jiu-jitsu What pulled you onto the mats? Fitness, confidence, self-defense, competition, mental health, community — whatever it was. 3️⃣ What you LOVE about jiu-jitsu Be honest. The grind, the problem-solving, the chaos, the discipline, the people, the way it humbles you — all of it counts. 4️⃣ Where you’re at right now Beginner? Returning after time off? Competing? Just trying to survive rounds and breathe? 😅 No judgment here. 5️⃣ Your goals Short-term and long-term: - Get in shape - Learn the fundamentals - Compete - Build confidence - Stay consistent - Train for life Say it out loud. It matters. 6️⃣ One thing you’re working on Could be technical, physical, or mental: - Guard retention - Escapes - Cardio - Staying calm under pressure - Showing up consistently 💬 After you post: Drop a comment on at least one other intro and welcome them in. This is how the culture gets built. This community isn’t about ego, belts, or highlight reels. It’s about real people, real stories, and real progress — on and off the mats. Let’s hear your story 👊🥋🔥

Hey everybody, names Mike McFarland. Former nfl tight end- got in a terrible car accident that almost ended my life, shattered just almost everything. But found my way to the Mats in 2019 right befor the accident. Jiu Jitsu really saved my life. I’d say it’s therapy both mentally and physically. I love competing at competitions as well. I love the problem solving aspect of it all. And how everyone’s game is completely different, even though we might be taught the same lesson. I am a 2 striped blue belt in the ultra heavy devision. My goal is to one day obtain my black belt n teach classes for my professor. A short term goal of mine is to Win PANS in March!! 😅 I am actively working on floating. ( staying on top)I’m 6’7” by the way. And to continue to give every ounce of fight that I have even from the bottom.
