Are you a BENEFIT or a DISTRACTION? [VIDEO]
On today's short live, I cover an important lesson I learned from a mentor of mine on the three growth strategies of any business...Organic growth, Acquisition growth, and Distribution growth. Although by pure definition, referral partnerships fall under the organic growth strategy, better understanding how to position your partnership as close to a Distribution growth partnership is something I believe anyone can benefit from considering. The irony here is that as I give a teaser on being a benefit and NOT a distraction, I have two 'friends' join us to create a chaotic video that's too silly for a take 2....I'll let you see for yourself. Summary points: your referral partnerships should always benefit your partners beyond just a transactional exchange of money. Find a way to bring REAL value to their business, and a great frame to consider could start by asking, "how can we become the 'sugar to their 'cake?'" Partnering w/ Platinum Rapper Twista
Everybody found a new hobby summer of 2020 and without live concerts, Twista used his free time to get extremely proficient at competitive shooting, becoming a nationally certified firearms instructor and starting a training company called The Gun Camp. The outside sales team I piloted hit $2.2M in its first full year 2019, and when Twista and I met August of 2020, our team had just hit half of what ended up being a $20.2M year. With his audience, T could have trained anywhere, but he wanted to bring safety to his local communities right in Chicago, and when he found out how our team could help his students, it quickly became a no brainer for him and his partners. In fact, it could be just because it was so long ago, but I honestly don't even remember us talking about compensation. It was no secret our end goal was to sell memberships, no question, but being able to protect students after leaving class..? Until we cracked the code and nationally went on to sell multiple 9 figures through referral partnerships ever since. @Dave Burgio powerful. Similar with our team. Gain the relationship and trust up front with in person, then keep the relationship momentum through phone 90% of the time with intermittent in person follow up and touchpoints
