@Dr. Jason Cole good eye. The same color is in one of the lines of the shirt.
I’m torn about these shirts
I have been wanting a Collars and Co shirt for a long time now but couldn’t convince myself to pay $80 for basically a collar! Yes, I’m frugal. So when one of my suppliers started offering the same style for less than $30 retail I bought every color they made. I’m wearing one for the first time today. The comfort is fine. I did put on an undershirt because I was worried that the polyester material might be cool on a 38 degree day. If has a very slick finish that I am not a fan of honestly. I have never owned a Collars and Co but suspect it is the same material. My problem is this, I realize that Collars and Co did the development work, did the advertising and built up the popularity of the shirt. They deserve to be reimbursed for all of that. On the other hand, I suspect the shirt comes out of the same area and probably the same plant as the Collars and Co shirt. My final justification was that it will be worn as a layering piece and only a small amount of the shirt is actually seen. What are your thoughts on this subject?

? For the gents that wear redwings
So today the gentleman that stepped into my life has a spiritual father figure gifted me a barely used pair of red wing chukka boots. Now as you know I have a side gig of cleaning/waxing and polishing boots But he told me red wing guys have some kind of strict routine they use on their boots so please educate me on what’s needed to take care of red wing boots P.s. yes this is my first pair of redwing boots

@Nicholas Logan I have seen their cleaning guide but it’s been a while. Most of their work boots use an oil tanned leather. Personally I am a fan of the Red Wing mink oil because it contains lanolin and silicone. In my opinion it isn’t as important what you use as much as you use something to keep the leather from drying out and cracking. Every company puts out care suggestions and will suggest their own products of course. You would be amazed at how many pairs of $200 to $400 boots I see every year that are dry and cracked and stiff as a board because the owners never bothered to take 5 minutes to oil them. It’s like buying a car and never changing the engine oil. Great boots, I’ve been selling them since the 1970’s and I believe it is still a privately owned company and still has a fair amount of US production in Red Wing MN. Also one of the few boot companies that owns their own leather tannery in the US. Interesting fact: until Thorogood became such a popular boot 20 years ago they sourced their leather from Red Wing.
