🎬 New in Director’s Notes 🎬
I just added a quick post on the Shooting Ratio in AI, and why not every take is a keeper. Here’s the truth: in traditional filmmaking, often only 1 in 10 shots makes the cut. The same goes for AI. If you’ve been frustrated that most generations don’t hit the mark, you’re not alone. I get frustrated too. That’s the process. Multiple takes lead to the magic. Check it out now in Director’s Notes (in the classroom).

It is frustrating, sure... but it's also fun and feels so rewarding when you finally get the AI to do what you wanted. And it feels incredible when it happens on the first take. 😀
Last Week’s Experiment
Last week I was experimenting and put together a 13-second edit — basically the opening of a music video. It’s a little homage to the 90s grunge/rock scene that inspired me when I was younger. Short, raw, and fun to make. What are you working on?

Love it! 🤩
Interesting ideas from Artlist
I got this via email today... some interesting workflow ideas we could all use. 😆
The Locksmith
I did this one a few months ago (Nov 2024) for a Storytelling course I did. It was created using Midjourney and animating it with Kling. Things have come a long way since then. AI is much more powerful. We have Sora and Veo3 now... I'll work on more stuff soon... and I know I'll get a LOT out of this awesome new community. 😁

@Lawrence Beimel Seriously, like 2 hours tops... It's part of a much longer video (with talking heads and real-world footage).

Lesson 1 - my first cinematic shot
Prompt: cinematic medium shot of a charismatic pop singer with brightly colored hair, dancing on a vibrant, retro-futuristic set filled with neon lights and holographic displays. The atmosphere is energetic and joyful, with lens flares and light streaks creating a sense of motion. Shot on a RED Komodo with a 24mm lens, high-energy, pop art style, saturated colors. --ar 16:9 --raw --profile e7t64gr --v 6
