Hey guys! I am Michelle from the USA.
Eight years ago we sold everything and bought a sailboat in the south pacific, Fiji. We have lived aboard Pogeyan full time for the last 8 years. I didn't want to do it, but I love diving and told my husband I would go if there was a dive compressor on board, so we would be a live aboard dive boat. Well, he got a boat with a compressor. And I have loved every minute! We spend the cyclone season in NZ which is so beautiful. After covid, I discovered a pottery studio 3 minutes from our dock. I immediately joined and now I make pottery for the 6 months/year that we are in NZ. When it is not cyclone season we sail to Minerva reefs, Tonga and/or Fiji. If you also love underwater life and would like to see oceanic mantas, whales, nudi, fish, jellyfish, octopus etc. I post photos and videos on FB and IG. Unfortunately, we are in the process of selling our boat. Our money ran out and we will return to the USA and work again :( Soooo sad. But, for now I will still enjoy the ocean life. I am a huge animal lover, especially dogs! I forgot to mention that my favorite thing to make is mugs with people's pets on them! And any ocean themed work, mugs, mantas, whales, etc.. I have a separate IG account for my pottery and only post the dog mugs because that is what I will be promoting and trying to go when I go back to the USA. I have been doing pottery half a year for the last 3 years. I still feel like a beginner and am struggling to learn the wheel. When I get back to the USA I want to have a studio! https://www.facebook.com/michelle.siebertmarshall https://www.instagram.com/siebertmarshall/ https://www.instagram.com/mutt_muggz/

@Louise Buckles I hope so. With all that is going on there, I am a little hesitant about returning.

@Mystie Richards That sounds amazing. We will have to add that to the list of possibilities! Thank you for sharing.
Magenta Sky
For months Magenta Sky just sat unused on my glaze shelf… until I saw someone use it on YouTube and I was instantly hooked! 💖 Even though I usually gravitate toward turquoise, blue, green, and white, I had to give it a try. And wow — I just love how those tiny crystals form and how the color shifts depending on the clay body. Now I’m curious: do you have Magenta Sky in your glaze collection? Have you tried it yet? Show me your results — I’d love to see them! ✨

IT is on my "to buy" list! I love it when I see it on pieces.
About me
I am Louise. I live on the Pacific Ocean in Long Beach Washington in the US. I have been doing ceramics for a little over two years. Learning to throw on the wheel. We also bought a kiln and set up a studio at our house this year. I am looking forward to sharing my journey with you.

What is the weather like where you live? I would love to live on the ocean but don't know where. Is the water warm there? I am guessing no, that you can't swim in it?
Morning, Pottery Moms! 🌸
Today I’m starting the day with cocoa in my legendary “Don’t Give a Fuck Mug.” 🏺🔥 Yes, it rhymes. Yes, it’s an attitude. And no, it’s definitely not my favorite – but it makes a statement. 😅 Now I want to know: ☕ Coffee crew? 🍵 Tea squad? 🍫 Cocoa gang? And most importantly – what’s your mug of the day? Drop a pic in the comments and let’s see what vessels are fueling your morning magic. ✨👇

I love it! I am COFFEEE! And I am using one of my ocean mugs! A back lit sea horse. I had white highlights around him but they kinda got lost during the high fire. I still love it! I used Pottery supply house purple haze inside and it was a little too thin so the coverage isn't great. I poured it in so I thought I had enough. I should have poured it twice.
On Vacation
I miss my studio and those pottery moments. 🔥🫟☕️ Do you know that feeling too?

Yes! I do pottery in NZ during the cyclone season about (5-6 months). Then we sail away and go to the South Pacific Islands, Fiji and Tonga for the other 6 months. I miss pottery so bad while I am gone. But, thanks to starlink I can watch all the pottery videos and get ideas for when I get back to NZ! My husband said he could put a kiln on the boat! I should have took him up on it.
