This morning I felt my heart in my mouth and panic all over when I saw this email. Checking the ‘HMRC’ email address details exposed it to be from an outlook account and so clearly a scam email. Thought I’d share to raise awareness; stay safe folks!

Landlords: make sure you’ve shared the required Renters’ Rights Act Information Sheet 2026 with your tenants before 31 May 2026. Providing this document is now a legal obligation, and missing the deadline could result in fines of up to £7,000 per property. Smaller landlords may be more at risk of overlooking this requirement, so it’s worth double-checking your compliance now.
