I want to take a moment to give you a BLESSING as today is a very powerful day to recieve blessings. Its the first day of the Jewish New Year called Rosh Hashanah! Ill tell you a quick story about a friend who was a cashier turned millionaire CEO.. About 15 years ago I was sitting in Shul talking to a friend who was the cashier at a local grocery store. I was very motivated because my business was just featured on INC500 number 178 and was telling him my secret. Each year I pray for something very specific. I dont just ask god to send me success, health, love.. I ask for something tangible. He looked at me like I was CRAZY. I asked him the following, "What would you like the universe to send you this coming year?" He replied, "I trust god and whatever he has in store for me, Im happy" I replied, "Ok, I get that you are grateful, that beautiful. But what if God wanted to hear from you something specific, instead of being LAZY he wanted you to THINK HARD and come up with a plan and promise to take massive action and he will put together all the pieces for you to actually to get to your SMART goal cause you worked hard to think about it and you prayed hard to ask and trust he will come through" He said, "That doesnt work cause I have asked for things and I didnt get them in the past" I said, "Tell me what you asked for?" He said "I asked for money, and I got no money, Im just a cashier making very little. I love my job im good at it, but I make just enough to pay some bills nothing extra" I said, "Aha, so you didnt ask for a specific amount of money, you just asked for money right?" He said, "Correct, I never thought of being very specific" I said, "Ok, you will go up to the torah and you will close your eyes durrin the holiest time of the year and you will have three wishes, HEALTH, FAMILY and MONEY - I want you to focus on a specific amount of money and a specific date and I want you to feel the feelings of ALREADY HAVING IT while your eyes are closed THANK GOD for already giving you that money. Do not beg, JUST PRAISE HASHEM."
