Intro message to group
Hey everyone! Thanks for the welcome. I’m Martin with CA Junk Masters out of Riverside, CA. I’m mainly in junk removal right now, but dump trailers are definitely in my near future, so I’m here to learn, contribute where I can, and keep leveling up. Looking forward to connecting, sharing what works (and what doesn’t), and being a solid resource for each other along the way. Glad to be here.

Welcome Martin!
VINYL LETTERING, STICKERS AND WRAPS
Just curious — do you guys handle your own vinyl lettering, or do you take it to a vinyl shop? 🤔 And what about wraps — do you have a pro do it, or produce it yourself? I’ve seen wraps around here going for about $5K, and even lettering’s not cheap 💸. I’ve used StickerMule and Lettering.com to help my son out before, but it still added up fast. So I’m wondering — did you buy your own vinyl machine and start doing it in-house, or do you outsource everything? I’ve seen one local guy who clearly used stencils and spray paint — quick, sure, but it looks… well, cheap 🫠. I know it’s “just a dumpster,” but branding matters — that two-tone look or clean logo really helps you stand out from the pack 🟡🔴. I really like the job Joe did with his dumpsters — that raccoon logo is a nice touch 🦝👏. There’s also a guy in Josh’s network (forget his name) who’s got a rhino logo — I think his company’s called Rhino Solutions — and it really works. Makes me think I might need to come up with a mascot myself. 🦏💡 I want to make it simple, memorable, and not too busy — something that sticks without looking cluttered. Any suggestions for a mascot or logo concept for Pro Dumpster Rentals? I’m open to creative ideas that still look professional and tough. Also, John at Same Day Dumpsters out in Salt Lake City has a great setup — mixing orange, baby blue, and white trucks. It’s clean, fresh, and stands out without looking overdone. 🎨🚛 Even the big dogs like Republic and Waste Management keep it simple with one centered logo — but since every dumpster’s a rolling billboard, I still want something that pops without breaking the bank 💥. Maybe I’m overthinking it, but I’m chasing that sweet spot between cost and brand impact. Anyone else wrestle with the same decision? 🙏

We had a team member that was good at spray painting the sides, but we got professional decals for the 'face' of the can. The cost of decals on each side was too much for me to stomach. As long as we had our phone number on each side, I was happy.
Customer response time
How fast should customer response time be? The faster the response, the happier the customer, but with the team I found that if we did next day or same day it ended up stressing them.

When I was dispatching, I'd add orders to the same day and customers were really happy. But the downside was that drivers would get stressed because they never knew when their day would end.
💰 BOOKKEEPING & ACCOUNTING RECOMMENDATIONS NEEDED! 💰
Hey everyone — looking for recommendations for bookkeeping and accounting services for a dumpster rental business. I did download QuickBooks, but I’m curious how others are handling this side of things. Do you guys do all your bookkeeping and accounting in-house, or do you hand it off to a pro who keeps everything running smooth — so when tax time rolls around, you’re already buttoned up? Personally, I could probably handle it myself, but let’s be real — sometimes we try to wear too many hats, and end up becoming a jack of all trades, master of none. 👷‍♂️💼 I’m thinking it might make sense to delegate bookkeeping just to make sure the books stay clean and accurate, and I’ve got a clear dashboard showing where the business stands at all times. That way I can focus on what really matters — growing the business and making money. 💪🚛
