Just for One Day
Todays choice is one of the primary pieces of the collection - Burberry Hero EDP. Fragrance 2/3 as I got this and Victory Elixer the same day. It still opens to my nose with a blast of Root Beer and then settles into a spicy blast of pine and cedar that is intensely masculine and reminds me of my time working in a wood shop and the mix or fresh cut wood and saw dust, turpentine, and resin. Maybe not everyone has such a strong positive association with those scents - but it's a strongly positive e one for me. Stay fresh my friends!

@Raymond Reeves thank you! Has become that even though it's only a few years old it definitely does feel like a classic

Help Needed ........
Whilst it's near impossible too get more than 3 days of heat in a calender year in these parts. Ireland is currently undergoing yet another heatwave 😂😂😂 My collection is mainly built around winter fragrances which I love, but I do have a few good ones that work in high heat. Problem now is, they are getting more attention that usual and I find myself looking for more options. My question is, what's your go to high heat fragrance?

SOTD: Allure Homme Sport Superleggera by Chanel 26/06/2026
This is the lighter, airier flanker to the original Allure Homme Sport, launched by Chanel in 2009 and composed by their in‑house perfumer Jacques Polge. It sits firmly in the fresh‑citrus‑aqua category, designed to feel weightless, cool, and unobtrusive — hence the name “Superleggera”, meaning super‑light. It’s not trying to be complex or bold; it’s a luxury take on the everyday summer scent, built for people who want quality without shouting it from across the room. I picked this up last week, I wanted something more refined than the usual drugstore aquatics, and it’s solid addition to my summer rotation, though it comes with trade‑offs. Scent‑wise it does exactly what it says on the tin. It opens bright and sharp with zesty bergamot, lemon, and orange, immediately followed by a clean, crisp hint of sea notes and aldehydes that give it that breezy, almost soapy‑fresh feel. There’s a subtle touch of cardamom and pepper right in the heart, but it’s so soft you barely notice it — just enough to stop it from being flat. The dry‑down is linear and minimal: smooth cedar, white musk, and a tiny bit of amber that sits close to the skin. It never turns sweet, heavy, or synthetic; it’s clean, transparent, and feels like a high‑end shower gel that lasts longer than usual. No surprises, no weird shifts — just consistent fresh air from start to finish. The biggest downside, is performance. It projects gently for the first 30–45 minutes, then quickly collapses to skin‑level, lasting only 3–4 hours max on my skin. You’ll need 10 - 15 sprays to get any real presence, and even then it won’t fill a room. It’s perfect for spring/summer, office, gym, or travel — safe, polite, and never offensive. It’s not a value pick at full retail it's around €150, and I’d never call it a “bargain”, but if you like that clean, upscale, no‑nonsense fresh vibe and don’t mind reapplying or spraying heavily, it’s a reliable, well‑made luxury scent. Just don’t buy it expecting powerhouse performance.

I find the same with the edition Blanche in terms of performance and push - really lovely but also really subtle
