Newest acquisition Hero Elixer by Burberry
This one was a pleasant surprise for sure. I am a big fan of this line as the EDP was one of the OG fragrances in my collection and Mr. Burberry and Mr. Burberry indigo were two fragrances that spawned my interest in the hobby after being more or less scent free for about 20 years when I was a school teacher. If you know the line at all famous for being a cedar bomb, although I tend to get a sarsaparilla or root beer note in it that I find very pleasant. This one has both of those things as well as a very nice leather note. In fact, I got a compliment from my wife about 5 minutes after applying it and she dislikes leather notes these days and even didn't like this one when I tried it on strip. Is this a must buy if you have any of the other ones, maybe it is different enough to add some uniqueness across some of the other flankers, it very classically masculine leaning and maybe a bit much for daily wear, but everyone is different so I would say try it on skin as it sang off my skin in ways it didn't on strip. I have collected the whole line and I think it's EDP and then this one for sure, of you only were getting two although the recency bias is real so 🤷🏼 Anyways stay fresh and frosty my brothers. M
SOTD - Bvlgari Tygar
This is a citrus aromatic built around a grapefruit opening with ginger and musk in the heart. It dries down to a woody patchouli. Its a fresh, radiant, slightly ambery citrus scent thats clean but has depth. It’s smooth and well blended. It feels luxurious and versatile, good for spring/summer/day use, but could be used all year. Longevity and projection are strong. I get 8+ hours on skin, and longer on clothes. Projects strong for the first 3-4 hours. It performs especially well in heat. The bottle is a nice heavy glass with a tiger’s eye inspired stone in the cap. Excellent if you like fresh grapefruit forward scents with a musky woody backbone. Highly recommended!

Tired it on strip when I was at Heathrow - wish I had grabbed it as I almost never see this one in the wild
SOTD: SWY Spices by Armani 09/05/2026
Picked this up a few weeks ago, the second release this year from Armani's SWY Line and I really like it. A warm Oriental Spicey edp that adds a touch of fiery ruggedness too the classic DNA. Although it's bottled like many of those Dubai limited editions, I can see this becoming a full time staple in the SWY line up. Like many of these releases, marketed by L'oreal, they don't credit the perfumer, abort Cécile Matton was the nose behind many of these flankers! It shifts away from the pure gourmand sweetness of its predecessors, designed to replace some of the syrupy facets of the original with a desert inspired aesthetic and a resinous warmth that feels more mature than the Original edt. Spices begins with a sharp, energizing burst of black pepper balanced by the zesty, citrusy brightness of bergamot & mandarin, for an immediate spark that sets a vibrant tone. As the fragrance transitions into the heart, it unveils a complex trio of hot spices consisting of clove, cinnamon & saffron, which are tempered by the inclusion of Lavender Diva essence & a subtle, jammy apricot note. This xore phase is where the Spices moniker truly shines, offering a dry heat. The dry-down settles into the signature base of the collection, that sugared chestnut accord, but here it is deepened by smoky leather, ambery woods & a luxurious Bourbon vanilla extract. The addition of a date note in the base provides a dark, fruity/leather sweetness that anchors the spices, creating a textured trail that lasts for ages. Spices as you could imagine is a serious contender, offering heavy projection. On the skin, it boasts impressive longevity, I get a solid 8 hours, and it clings to clothes forever. Due to its dense, spicy, and resinous profile, this fragrance is best suited for the colder months of autumn and winter, where the crisp air allows the warmth of the cinnamon and amber to bloom beautifully. It is an ideal choice for formal evening events, winter dates, or high-profile social gatherings. Easily my favourite release of the year so far.
