Clear Your Mental Clutter so you can hear your own internal wisdom again.
BLUF: Clear your mental clutter so you can hear your internal wisdom again. https://www.site.melodymorrisintl.com/mental-clutter If you’re an entrepreneur, you know this experience. Your brain doesn’t just ‘think’. It runs like a browser with 37 tabs open and you can’t seem to find the one that’s actually playing the music. 😑 We often replay conversations, second-guess decisions we’ve already made, rewrite emails hours later, and wonder if we missed something or if we’re about to. It’s not just busy, it’s LOUD! And when our minds are that full, everything starts to feel unclear. Simple decisions feel heavier than they should, and our instincts get buried under all that noise. We either overthink… or avoid. I created this shamanic journey because I needed a way to slow that down and not by forcing my mind to be quiet. That never worked for me. But by giving my mind somewhere to go and something to do. A way to actually process what it’s holding instead of looping it over and over. The result isn’t just feeling better and thinking clearly. It’s that your mind settles enough for you to actually hear yourself again. Your internal wisdom comes back online. Decisions feel clean. Your yes is a yes, and your no is a no. I use this myself, especially when I notice that internal noise starting to build. It’s like having a volume dial installed on your brain. For when it just won’t shut up.

Newbie saying Hi!
Hiya Lovelies, I’m Melody, Mom to now 6 4-legged babies (5 horses and 1 dog), step mom to 3, step grandma to 5 with #6 on the way. (Yes, we’re excited!) Funny story about that, I told my Mom when I was 14 that I was going to ‘skip kids and go straight to grandkids’. She said, “It will be interesting to see how that works out for you”. 🤣 Marry an older man and it works out beautifully! My husband had 3 grown kids before we met so I get to be their friend, but I’m 3rd grandma to the grands. #TellMeWhatICan’tDoAgain #WatchMeNow I’m all up in the woo, AND I’m different about it. My journey into spirituality started with science. neuroscience to be exact. I’ve always been the one who wanted to know WHY things worked. I’ve spent my entire lifetime seeking knowledge about neuroscience, behavioral psychology, and quantum physics. In 2017 I’d been diagnosed with C-PTSD from abuse, was on 3 different mental health meds and had a service dog for my panic attacks, my then boyfriend/now husband offered to pay for me to do the thing that helped him with his PTSD from combat. I said yes. (Thank god, I’m so stubborn sometimes!) It was a year long indigenous medicine wheel program and when I started seeing these beautiful connections and explanations of the science and psychology I had been digesting my whole life and these beautiful indigenous practices, I couldn’t unsee it. It gave me purpose and passion and drive! I now have the privilege of helping other women like me who are overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, frustration, and anger over their past pain. I have such lovely students and graduates who have made impressive improvements to their lives, and they run the gamut from loosing weight they’ve held onto for over a decade, to finding their purpose and walking in it, to healing from their own trauma so they move through the world with more peace and ease. My business students have made more money exponentially, refined their ideal client and now attract them, bought and sold businesses.

Social media audit
Right now, social media feels like a tool in my business. It’s taken me since September of last year to be able to say that and I am damn proud of myself! I used to have the same toxic relationship with social media that I’m sure a lot of you have had at one time. I scrolled endlessly, getting sucked into online verbal vomit battles that did nothing but stress me out, make me mad, and suck my time. Last year, I decided that toxic relationship needed to go, and just like all toxic relationships they are HARD to get out and away from! It took a lot of work, and a lot of time spent trying different tools that would limit my access to social media (which I still thought I ‘needed’ for business purposes) Truth is, when I did a social media audit last year, I realized I had made less than $200 directly from social media posting. $200? That’s what I was trading for my sanity and my peace? UH NO THANK YOU. So social media and I broke up. He came sniffing back around often, (like most abusive partners do when they can find you) until I finally helped him see that we were just NOT going to be together. EVER. AGAIN. I don’t care about his algorithm or any of the rest of the 99.999% of the platform that is designed to be addictive. Then what do I mean by social media is a tool? I mean it’s a great place to engage in groups that give me access to information that is helpful for my current business focus. Such as the bundle/summit groups that I’m in and a podcast hosting/guesting group I’m in. Last week was a pitch week, so I probably spent maybe an hour on Facebook looking at the newer posts in those groups to find aligned podcasts to guest on, and aligned bundles and summits to apply to participate in. (I built my own custom GPT to help me with deciding fit so all I’m doing is skimming, copy & pasting, and opening whatever link is attached.) Most weeks it’s less than 10 minutes total and I check 3 things. 1. What I’ve been tagged in (just me, not everyone) 2. What my husband has posted (he tends to post when he’s had an epiphany about something because he communicates best through writing) 3. What my best friend has posted (she’s an attorney who almost exclusively posts hilarious legal memes) Another beautiful thing my shamanic practice has helped me with. Unplugging from the social media matrix and seeing it for what it is. A control tool.
Social Media Audit
Right now, social media feels like a limit that doesn't exist in my business. (Just rewatched Mean Girls, lol). What I mean is this: I don't use social in my business, and I haven't for a few years. And I'm here to learn strategy and techniques to complement what I'm already doing. BUT (and this is a big one) I still feel like I SHOULD be using social, even though the thought makes me want to vomit.
