Hello I’m Olive and I’ve been sewing for 2 weeks🤣😅. I recently purchased a sewing machine to make my daughter a dress thinking it’ll be easy (spoiler alert) it’s not. I’m hoping to gain a strong understanding of the art and some great tips. Thank you for having me.

Made two aprons to give as gifts. It’s been a busy weekend. I’m traveling for today to Ohio to see a very special person. No sewing for me for the next 11 days! Have fun sewing, sewing friends.

Okay Rebecca, I did take pictures of what a hot mess the bobbin area was of my Singer machine as you asked :) I don't have good lighting & had to hold a flashlight & try to take pictures at the same time but, you can see it was long overdue for cleaning! 7 brushes later, she is all clean :)

I really have been wanting to make some skirts. I figured that would be a good beginner project. I had to redo the pockets a few times and the elastic once. I think I need to watch more elastic tutorials, but overall it turned it pretty good. Every mistake I make has been a learning opportunity.
