3 contributions to 3PS: The Household OS
I see it, I do it, it’s done.
Today I walked into the kitchen half awake and saw the sink full of dishes. Normally I would sigh, tell myself I would get to it later when the kids are napping, and carry that tiny weight all day. Instead I rolled up my sleeves and started the water. It took 3 rounds of ten minutes. That was it. The counters were cleared by lunch time, and my brain felt quiet. I realized how much stress comes from the little promises we make to ourselves and keep postponing. Every “I’ll do it later” stays open in the background of your mind. When I just handle it in the moment, the house feels calmer and so do I. No nagging thoughts. No mental clutter. Sometimes peace is not a vacation. Sometimes it is simply washing the dish when you see the dish. What's your small win for the day?

That’s truly awesome! It is so true the mental weight we carry with us of pushing off a task weighs us down! You made such an awesome point. I am hoping to remember to push myself to just do the thing and feel lighter through the day.

My wiring takes me in both directions and I must honestly say I do what I am able in any given moment. I want to be completely “do them in whole” type of chick, however I have found that concept feels like too much. I do feel like I am in the beginning stages of structuring what I want my week to look like. Structuring what I do on what day of the week will then help me structure other things into my day.
Plan your meals
Start your ween bg prepping on the weekends. Create a grocery list based on meals you want tk make for the week. This will save time and money. Schedule time to cook throughout the week, or my favorite, bulk cook on Sundays and Wednesdays. As a busy mother with no support other than my husband, this is one way I keep control of our super busy week. Give it a try.

I am working on making progress in this area. Since I am not working outside the home currently I want Wednesday to be one of my prep days. This week I think it will be possible. I purchased a butternut squash, Brussels sprouts and romaine lettuce that needs some type of prepping. I’m going to commit to doing it tomorrow.
Mini System Drop:
Household OS Rule # 1: If it repeats weekly, it needs a system. In my home, we do laundry once per week. With a husband working onsite (I work remotely) and 2 babies, clothes can pile up very quickly. In my most chaotic moments, I feel overwhelmed and unprepared. To tackle this I follow a life-changing family laundry system. Steal my system: 1) Do laundry weekly. Pick a day and stick to it. 2) Have a sorting station or bin in at least 2-3 places in your home. 3) treat any stains the night before laundry. 4) Do one load after the other. Sorting as they dry. 5)HERES WHERE I OFTEN GET STUCK. 📌 Sorting the clothes means everyone now has fresh clothes to wear....but we all hate to look through our piles. SO, I spend 2 days to fold and put away. *If this doesn't work for you, fold your laundry the same day and put them away as each load dries. 6) Always have your supplies ready. Your laundry will delay if you're suddenly out of softener or detergent. 😫 7) Find your favorite settings on each machine. 8) Get the whole family involved if possible. This system works well for me, but I hope I can hear from you too. 😄🎙🪄 What repeats weekly in your home that doesn't have a system?

Systems are such a struggle with me even with the great awareness how beneficial systems are. My life was definitely in disarray for an extremely long time more than half my life. Recently there has been a turn for the better. I am praying things stay as they are because I really think with a calmer mind and more supportive relationship I may be able to start establishing better systems. It’s a work in progress, and so I am! LOL
