44, Washington State, USA. Been having perimenopause symptoms since I was 40, had an older female gyno tell me I was too young for it. *Eye roll* Night sweats, major fatigue, lack of motivation, mood issues, swelling, frozen shoulder, dry skin patches, high blood pressure, Migraine shortness of breath, hair loss, sleep apnea, heavy-long periods with a few short light ones thrown in to tease me. Got myself a new primary doc and gyno (gyno I see for the first time next week 🤞🏼). Blood tests say low ferritin, high RBC (come to find out it has been high for over 5 years and no one addressed it), low B-12 (once again not addressed until I said something). New doc got me on low dose estrogen patch and progesterone. Has helped with night sweats, some mood and….? With iron supplement I was able to get ferritin up to 21, hematologist said it was good and he didn’t need to see me anymore. Everyone keeps pushing me around for my high RBC, now I’m waiting for an appointment to see my pulmonologist at the end of August. Now, back in September I went to Mexico, came back and had some insane diarrhea for a day. Then at the end of October had some horrible gut pain (never had gut pain my whole life), went to hospital, they said my appendix and guts were inflamed and they kept me for a few days on liquid antibiotics until it improved, got a colonoscopy in February. They saw nothing (grateful!), but they just said, “eh, you just have IBS now.” So now I’m working on figuring out my whole slew of issues, try to exercise my body when I feel like I’m moving through sand and get winded easily. If you made it this far, thanks you so much for taking the time to read this. Let’s take back our lives ladies, because we deserve it!
