Post Menopausal, Anyone?
Hi, I’m Alicia and found the group through IG. As one who asks all the questions with her labs, the ability to find out more with the help of a physician peaked my interest. I entered post menopause via total hysterectomy so a lot of the information regarding menopause was not designed for women like me. I manage my symptoms by continuing to exercise and reduce my sugar intake (this one comes after me ferociously). It’s definitely not easy in any sense. Yet, I’m hoping to build a trusted community to gather more wisdom. Let me know if you can relate. I’d love to connect.

@Melanie Berry thanks for reaching out. My PCP (Male) has a speciality in osteopathic care which is why I selected him and kept my female Gyn. However with so many healthcare changes I needed another GYN and found Midi healthcare for the interim. Regular meno females still have their reproductive organs and there’s some protective benefits available. Most drugs are tested with females who have this system intact. When you don’t have those organs, there’s a break in the communication system and the things that are prescribed to help don’t/can’t react in the same manner. It indeed has been an interesting journey.

Thanks for the feedback. There is so much to learn!
Hello!
I am here because everything seemed to take a turn for the worst when I hit the post menopausal stage. Everyone guessed I had high cortisol levels, thyroid dysfunction, severe insulin resistance, and lacking on the sex hormones. Truth be told, the only thing correct is lacking sex hormones due to being post menopausal. My thyroid function seems fine. Maybe a tad sub optimal. My cortisol is LOW, my fasting insulin is only 6.3. I have NO IDEA what to make of these results. Here's hoping to learn something.
